For those that remember that far back, I started a T-Series thread in a couple of places and even announced the arrival of the T-2's I ordered and a brief review. For background see both threads: Questions and Answers I delayed installing the speakers because it looked like we might be moving to the Atlanta area and I didn't want to install speakers for a new owner and not enjoy them myself. Long story short, it looks like we'll be here for a while so in the wall they went. The speakers come with a template for cutting out the right amount of drywall, but I also found them handy to thumbtack to the wall to get an idea of placement. So I started out with them as far apart as I could go, keeping studs in mind: Even got WAF approval, so away with the drywall saw I went. The right side was good, just missing a plumbing vent pipe (black spot behind insulation): The left side, however, was a complete FUBAR! Stud finders are not too good at "seeing" plastic pipe (vertical black strip in right half of hole)... So on to Plan B: Next available location for left speaker crowds things a bit... (yes, the template pics were taken at the same time - three in all, emailed to the Mrs at work for approval) So after a quick patch job, re-texture coat, and paint to match here's how it turned out... They are currently being fed by my old Techniques AVR that is in an upstairs bedroom. I will land the wired behind the bar and move the AVR there as well. In the mean time, I've got my iPod plugged into it and across a very wide variety of music, they sound great. I haven't really cranked them up yet, but that will happen. I will also see if adding the Cambridge bass module adds anything - If the Mrs likes the sound I'll be pushing for an EP400... stay tuned!

Scott, those work very nice! Are you planning on moving the TV over on that wall now? I need some wall speakers upstairs for my new plasma, and have been thinking about the T2's or possibly the new Accent ones just released, but the Accents are a lot smaller, so not sure.
I need to get up in the attic to see how easy it will be to route speaker wires around...

Nice. They really blend in. Did you paint the front baffle the same colour as your wall?

Randy,
No plans yet to move the TV. Though that would make things much easier. As it stands now there is no cable where the TV is (one of those things that could have been corrected during our recovery from Katrina, but we didn't think about it until everything was done), so it is only used for XBox, DVD's and Netflix-over-XBox movies. There is a cable drop behind the couch. We tried moving the couch and chairs as though we could use the wall with the painting and it didn't work too well.
John,
Yes, I took everything apart, painted it and then re-glued the perforated grill back onto the frame.

Very nice. I showed the wife and she too said it looks very nice. I then told her they make M80s like this, well she then gave me the "are you crazy" look. O'well it was worth a shot

I think the inwall 80s would be a perfect solution for those who want big sound in an estetically transparent package.

The T-80s are not in-wall. They are meant to be put in a cabinet (they are 17" deep).
