hi folks
seems to be a lot of posts lately on stands for different speakers, and I wanted to throw another question into the mix. I currently own an older pair of Infinity Minuettes for surround speakers, but have no stands. I'd like to buy stands but do plan on upgrading to QS8s in the near future. So I'd need a stand that works with both. The QSS is the obvious choice, but they don't appear to be high enough. I'd be sitting most of the time with ear height @ 4'. What is everyone else using for stands??? (Can't mount right now, I'm renting, but hopefully will own a house within a year and can drill as many holes as I want then). Thanks in advance everyone.

I think you may be SOL on stands that would work for both QS8s and other standard design surround speakers. As I'm sure tou know, the quadpolar QS8 is unique in that it requires clearance on the bottom.

If such a hybrid stand does exist, it may resemble a wall-mount (e.g. something that screws in to the back of a speaker) attached to a stand.

hey Peter
thanks, I was afraid of this. I guess I'll probably buy the Axiom stand for now and rig it up to work with my old surrounds (until the funds come in for new QS8 - could be a long way down the road, this Asian trip thing is damned expensive ) Then I'll just hope it's sooner, rather than later that I can move into my own place and mount them wherever the heck i want to!

By the way, for all you beer lovers, I'm enjoying some interesting Taiwanese beer (as I did last time I was here a year-and-a-half ago). They've all got humourous names like "Premium Beer", "Super Beer", and the fairly common "Taiwan Beer". They're pretty easy to pail-feed on, but maybe that's just because I'm on holidays.

"Pail-feed on" LOL!!

Thank you for helping uphold the tradition of morphing as many threads as possible into beer threads.

I'm not a big fan of Asian beers, overall. However, there is a LOT to be said for enjoying a fresh beer in its native habitat; that is not a pleasure I've had relative to Taiwan beers. Hope you enjoy your trip!

This is why I insist on only drinking Anheuser-Busch beers in St. Louis (their native habitat). Of course, those are the only beers available there. Just try ordering a Guinness in St. Louis...
