The M80s do very well in a 2 channel system on their own.

your long lost brother Rick. Moose, I've held many auditions in my home. When I turn OFF the subs, and listen to music with the 80's, many people ask me again to make sure the subs are off, they are that good in the bass frequencies.

also understand that correct placement in the room, as well as the room acoustics makes a difference on the sound.

thanks to yur response iwill be ordering soon. a friend had some sterlings with 2 8s in each speaker and i asked him the same thing where is the sub, bass was that good.
