+1 I agree with everything you have noticed SatKartr. I experimented also with the DV and DE on my Denon and noticed the same things that you have, a subtle muffling of of the sound. I can't put into words what my experiences were but what you say really makes sense to me. Some people may not notice this effect! Maybe later on when I feel like experimenting again I'll give both a shot, but right now I've got DV and DE OFF. Mel N.

I have been speechless for some time now even though there are improvements I know I need to make but everything just sounds so tremendous with the 3808 that I simply have no complaints, much less motivation to tweak.
One thing has stuck in my mind though, Mel, since I noticed on another thread (I guess the one where you lent your amp to Jay) that you are also running an A1400-8. Folks running the Dynamic EQ on the internal Denon amplification seem to like it pretty well whereas you and I running DEQ via the pre outs into the A1400-8 have been less than impressed.
Coincidence? Thought it was worth mentioning, cross one off my list.

I have Odyssey Monoblocks running my m80's, and Audyssey sounds great. I guess I could try it with just the Denon.

Randy have you purchased the Audyssey upgrade? Audyssey itself on the 3808 sounds great to me as well, in fact well beyond great, for me a paradigm shift, game changer, mind blower, must have-, killer feature, i.e., all of the usual cliches that I parrot with utmost sincerity, but the Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume seem to spoil the effect.
Do you have DEQ and/or DEV implemented from the feature upgrade, are they working for you to improve sound with the monoblocks?

yep, I did that the same day I unboxed it. I only use the dynamic volume at night late if the kids are in bed, and even at that I use the day or evening modes to limit the dynamic range, haven't used the midnight mode. for movies I normally use MultEQ with Dynamic EQ turned on. I guess I will have to experiment, but so far I'm pretty impressed when I compare Audyssey everything off to on. yes, I have the feature upgrade. I will say the overall sound for music and movies seems to be better than with Audyssey off.
