I've had my EP-350 for several years and she has severed me well. The other day I switch her on and I heard some crackling noises as she attempted to power up. The noises sounded like they were coming from the amp portion of the speaker, not the actual speaker. The light began to flicker and I immediately turned it off. I checked the plug in the wall, thinking it might not of had a good connection, and it was fine. I then plugged it into another outlet, just to be safe, and it would not turn on. I've checked the fuses and they appear fine. It's dead! Please Help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Rebulx,
Sorry to hear about your problem. Your EP350 comes with a 5 year warranty so you are probably still within the warranty period. Call Axioms toll free number (# at top of the page) and they will help you with troubleshooting and fixing any issues you are experiencing.
Good luck!

Ouch! Time for a call to Axiom! Mine has severed me well also, she started 27 years ago on the 10th day of October in 1981 and has been severing me well every since. Ouch! But I've loved every minute of it.

Michael, if "several years" is 5 or less, you are still under warranty, time to call Axiom. Even if it is not under warranty, still call, you might be suprised.

I wrote an email to axiom. They advised me to replace the slo-blow fuses. They appear fine; however, after a quick trip to radio shack I'll replace them and update later today.

Replaced the fuses and still nothing. I called Axiom and they are shipping me a new amp. He said it should be in the mail by Tuesday, since Monday is Memorial day, and I should see it on Friday.

Excellent Rebulx. Is your EP-350 V2? I ask that because they will probably send you out a V3 amp which is the current amp in the EP350 (upgraded version) . I can't find the thread at this moment but if I remembered correctly someone recently received a V3 as a replacement amp for their V2 EP350 and they had to do a simple modification to the connectors for the installation of the new amp.

I purchased the sub about 4 years ago. I think it's a version one. On the back there is no V2 or V3. How do I tell? The axiom rep told me I would be getting an upgraded amp. Do you know what was changed? Will the new one sound better?

Hello Rebulx, I am pretty sure they will be sending you a V3 amp for your EP350. The packaging box for the amp will have the version # on it which will tell you what version you received. From my understanding V3 offers upgraded performance . Cheers!

If it has a black dust cap, it's a v1. If it's all aluminum and has 2 vortex ports, it's v2. If it's got a big honking slot port, it's v3.

The amp has a black plastic dust cover. It also has the two holes on the front for air. I'm thinking its a version one.

Ah, I meant the driver itself, not the amp. If it looks like a big ol' salad bowl, it's v2.

If it was a V2, wouldn't it say it on the back? I'm at work now, but from what I remember, the driver looks like a stainless steel doughnut .... what can I say, it's lunch time! I'll take some pics and post them when I get home. I compare my speakers to my food and my food to my speakers!!!

That's a v2, or at least very close to when they changed the designations.

It's aluminum. I'd use a soft damp cloth, and might use a mild cleaner only if necessary.

The packaged arrived today! The box was torn up pretty bad which made me a little concerned. Once I opened the box I quickly realized that the amp is actually encapsulated in a wood box. It's kind of cool. I'm going to take some pics and update once I get her running.

Yep, the wood crate, I remember when FedEx ran over my EP500 amp crate with what looked to be a semi.

If I am not mistaken that is the ep 500 amp. The 350 v3 is all black.

That does look like an EP500 amp.... the 350v3 doesn't have balanced inputs.

It looks exactly the same as the old one. I guess they changed the new ones around a bit. I hooked it up and she is purring like a kitten.
I've got to say, after the sub quit on me, and four years of solid use, I figured I was going to have to spend the money on a new one. Its nice to know that Axiom really stands behind their stuff this long down the road. I'm a customer for life!

um, I forgot my settings. Whats the recommended setting for the flat knob, remote knob, cross over (i think i used 80)? My other speakers are the 150 center, two floor standing 50's, two M2s as surrounds and a Q4 in the center rear. I'm pushing them with a Yamaha receiver. Thanks in advance for your help.

A good starting point is to set the subwoofer to YES or ON and speakers set to small in your receivers menu settings. Set the crossover in your receiver to 80 as well. If you do not have an SPL, they are an excellent investment for calibrating your speakers and subwoofer. It is my favorite gadget along with my rechargable battery kit. On the subwoofer itself set the crossver to max (to disable the crossover on the sub since you are using the receivers bass management).
