im helping a friend pick out a surround package,so far i decided, based on all the reviews,on the m22s-vp150 and a b&w sub what im looking for is input on weather the qs8s are worth the extra 235 dollars-need 3 of them-or would the 4s be a decent match for the fronts...keep in mind that they are going in a house of a person that is extremely happy with radio shack in-walls throughout the house....thanks...ron

There's no question that the QS8s are better than the QS4s. With Axiom centers and surrounds, it's 100% certain that if you pay more, you'll get a better speaker. Whether the QS8 is $235 better than the QS4 is a different story. It depends how much s/he values that money.

To put it in perspective, think of all the CDs and DVDs s/he could buy with $235. Would s/he rather use that money for upgraded surround speakers -- which are important, but by no means "pivotal" speakers in a HT system -- or would s/he rather use the money to buy material that puts the system to good use?

Fours, good.. Eight, better.. If you have the money, go with the 8's.. If the room is smallish, 4's may be perfect ?
Music, or movies ? Loud, medium or soft volumes ?
.223 or .308 ? Both get the job done, both have their pros and cons.. Ones just a liiiiittle louder than the other..
Buy both, try them out, and send one set back..

LFE ! The rest is just details..

That's good news! Having a guinea pig living inside an M22 could be quite devastating. How the heck did it get in there, anyway? Wait, don't tell me. The vortex port, right?

Is this some sort of sick joke? You're supposed to use gerbils, btw...

Also, the QS4's use a different, hybrid .75" tweeter that no other speaker in the Axiom line uses. Knowing that made me upgrade to QS8's after owning QS4's for only about 5 months.
