Why are you using nVidias DVD player with an Ati card?

I have used both extensively and have always found that the ATI Player was much nicer. But to each his own.

What do you mean as nicer? To work with or as in picture quality? I did not have the latest version of the ATi DVd player. My card is a Saphhire OEM card. I had a version of NVidea 2.55 from a GForce card. But people on avsforum.com did multiple extensive tests and the nvidea actually fared better in picture quality than the ATI software. The best PQ was WinDVD with all those FDDSHOW filter etc..then came the 2.55 version of nvidea.

Congrats on the new purchases!! I wish I had had your money to spend my friend. I thought you were going to try and get the Maggie center speaker. Enjoy! Let me know how well they blend together for sound.

They blend pretty well. You just need a receiver with an auto EQ to match all the speakers. I sold the Rotel got the Pioneer 43TX which has MCACC. I demoed a VP150 and QS4 from Number One sound to try it out. It was spectacular and matched well(after calibration). The center Maggies is $1600 and doesnt have the extension that the VP150 has. And with that money thats the price of a pair of custom QS8 and VP150. It was more recycled money anyways. I sold the Bryston 2B and 3B and the Rotel RSX 1065.

I didn't know the 43TX came with MCACC. I thought MCACC only started with 45TX and up. But that's great news. Did you buy new or used and what did you dish out if you don't mind me asking? I'm leaning towards Elite as well.

Ops I mean 53TX. Got it new. Spent a fortune. But I made some from the sale of the Rotel+PMC DB1+TB2 center+stands=Pioneer 53TX+QS8+VP150+cash. So I dished out $1700 on the 53tx but you should be able to get it for about $1200+. I had to pay retail because I traded back the center channel to the store and they gave me full price for the 4 month old center channel.

The 53TX replaced the 45TX right? I thought it was retailing for $2400. Anyways, great deal!! Have fun!!

My order came today... but someone buggered up my order and instead of a VP150 what came is a VP100....
I didn't even bother to pick it up from the store since I will just wait till the VP150 comes in.
Bah humbug... oh well... might as well...good enough reason to my see my parents and the rest of the family for Christmas. It would have been very difficult for my fiancee to pry me off the couch if the speakers were here.
