The first episode was all right.

I feel the same way. My sister loves anything to do with vampires, and I can't get into the vampire thing at all. I forced myself to read Interview with the Vampire to see what all the hype was about and I hated it. The movie did little to change my opinion.

I did manage to catch a bit of True Blood--it was entertaining, but I turned it off after twenty minutes or so.

I did like the term, "fangbanger," but yeah, I don't know why I can't get into vampires. The idea of vampires seems like it would have some serious potential. I keep thinking I just haven't come across the right material. I was considering writing a story about mervampires (underwater vampires), and they would have to compete with sharks when they smell blood, but of course I was too lazy to do anything with it.

That could be the material that unlocks the vampire mystique for those of us on the fence. You become a billionaire--books, movie deals, lunch boxes. . .

Speaking of Vampires, I watched "Låt den rätte komma in" on Blu-Ray last week. It was an interesting flick with some good suspense.

Anyone see it? What did you think?

I liked it all right. I still couldn't quite get into the vampire thing, but I thought the characters were well-done, and some of the shots were pretty inventive.

I liked it too. It seemed more real than the countless other(cheesy) vampire flicks I've seen. Good story. The child actors were convincing.

The only negative part were the subtitles. Some of them didn't make sense and had me dumbfounded. I learned, after watching the movie, they were translated wrong. Besides the minor subtitle goof, it didn't ruin the movie for me.

I hear a new release is on the way with the correct (theatrical) subtitles. Perhaps I'll have to watch it again in the very near future.

I guess it's been a while, so I don't remember the subtitles being weird. It would be so much handier if I just understood every language.
