Well it has been over 6 months since I thought about getting a new system but the I have saved up the money, wife gave the thumbs up also. Anyway I will be getting the Epic Grand Master - 500 only 5.1 need to save more if I want a 7.1 but with just buying a house good luck with that. I will be getting the stands for the M22's and will ceiling mount the QS8 I will be buying all Factory Outlet. Here is a link to the house we got and some pics of the layout of the living room. The pics are of the old people that lived there. Oh before I forget our couch is on the other side and our T.V is between the windows. http://sk.athomecanada.com/viewimage.php?imageID=152216&type=listinghttp://sk.athomecanada.com/viewimage.php?imageID=152217&type=listingI can't wait tell Tuesday to place my order, I wish I could order now but wife wants me to wait a few days to pay off the vise. I all ready bought an Onkyo TXSR806 for 1000$ CND and a new T.V stand to fit the center and mount the T.V.

Gram, very good. Feed that setup some good material and you'll be enjoying great sound.

Nice room! Sure wish I had wood floors but I’m to cheap and/or lazy do it right now. That looks like a perfect speaker choice for your room. Don’t sweat not getting 7.1. Although others may have different experiences the move from 5.1 to 7.1 was the least impressive of all my speaker upgrades.
Cheers, Dean

Gram, many of our Canadian members have found that the cables and wire they got from MonoPrice.com(although not headquartered in Canada)can't be beat on a quality/price basis.

What kind of wire do I need 12 or 14, not sure what the numbers mean. Also does it matter if I run the wire in the wall, does it have to be inwall wire.

For short runs (up to 40'??) 14 gage will do fine. For the really short stuff 16 is also fine. Axiom has reasonably priced wire as well. Not quite as inexpensive as Monoprice, but since you are ordering anyway... You can also use speaker wire from Home Depot (copper is copper)but its not as flexible as the Axiom stuff or some of the stuff at monoprice. Edit: the higher the number, the thinner the wire is.

That sounds like a killer system for your room. Don't bother with 7.1, it won't work if your couch is up against a wall. From all the other posts I have seen you need a few feet behind you before the rear surrounds will add anything noticable.

Also does it matter if I run the wire in the wall, does it have to be inwall wire. Check your local building codes, you most likely need to buy specific inwall wire due to fire hazzard. They usually have some type of PVC covering on them.

Hint: Some nice to work with, in-wall, bulk speaker cable from Monoprice.com cost me less after deliver than the crappy, non inwall, bulk speaker wire I could find locally.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.
