 Need help with seperates.

I'm debating adding an external amp and using my Onkyo sr700 as a controller/processor. I can get a great price on a Rotel 1075 and an ADCOM with the same power ratings, I forget the model #. If any one is doing this I'd appreciate comments on how it sounds vs using the receiver to power every thing. Thanks.

I went from an old Onkyo Integra receiver to the Rotel 1066 processor and RB-1075 amp. I've been very, very happy. I've not heard that particular Onkyo receiver though, and never used my receiver as the processor, so it's not really an apples to apples comparison.
