I have an Axiom 7.2 system that I have running in a room I have built for them. I would like to 'test' this system and am looking for some suggestions. What movies would you suggest I rent/buy to see how this system really sounds when put to the test. Also, what CDs will give me something to try with the system as well? My preference with respect to music is classic rock although I am open to any other suggestions. My movie preference tends to be the action/adventure type. These are things I used when I had the wizard Axiom has help me with what items I should purchase. I have 4 QS8's, a VP150 for the centre, two EP175 subs and 2 M60's. They are powered by a Pioneer 1019 AH-K. I have a Sony BluRay player as part of the set up as well. Thanks Ron

I'd recommend Dire Straits-Money for Nothing on SACD, assuming your BD player does SACD.

The Eagles Farwell Tour is a great disc to check out your system.

I second wid's Eagles suggestion. It has some great surround work in it, you really get the sensation that you are in the audience.
Star Wars : Phantom Menace - Pod Race scene, has some really good surround experience as well.
U571 - Depth Charge scene will test out the M60s and subs.
Saving Private Ryan - Beach landing has lots going on it.

The first 10 minutes or so of Transformers 1 sold one of my friends on an Axiom system. Tonnes of bass from the helicopters and "blue stuff" that Blackout fires at the Marines.

Lord of the Rings has an excellent soundtrack and some good LFE.
I'll bet Johnk can suggest some classical music that will really put your system through its paces (if thats your thing).
Clapton unplugged is very good for acoustic guitar & male volcals.

The Dark Knight, Master and Commander, LOTR and for music I'd go with DSOTM by Pink Floyd(sacd), The Song Remains the Same(Led Zep), Foreigner and Alan Parsons in the "classic rock" category, and Holly Cole, Loreena McKennitt, James Taylor and Bruce Cockburn for something a little different. There's actually so much to choose from when you think about it, you should just have fun with whatever you want to try....

Just watched 3:10 to Yuma and it's reference material IMO. Stunning video with a phenomenal 7.1 uncompressed soundtrack. I also really liked the movie.

Good recommendation, thanks. I've been wanting to see that movie for a while. Finally experienced Avatar a few weeks ago, stunning.
