Morning ,i have ordered the Vp-180 and now looking what towers i might purchase next .
Has anyone done a direct comparison between the M50's and M60's and what might be the differences besides the obvious of the 60's having a dedicated midrange .
They will be powered by a XPA-3
On a side note , a friend ordered the m22's and i was quite impressed.
I had to ask him whether his center and sub were still on as the imaging was fantastic and i could not believe the bass .
Thanks

PT, if you've ordered the VP180, I would say you should be looking at the M60 (or M80) as a better match than the M50.

From Alan's comments the M50 is more laid back than the M60/M80, I would suspect due to the lack of a dedicated midrange. For a better match to the VP180, as the others have mentioned, you should be looking at the M60/M80.

Now, take this with a big grain of salt, but my M50tis (about 6 or 7 years old at this point) don't image nearly as well as my M80v2s. I know there have been upgrades to the M50s, so they may have improved over the years. I think I may be the only active board member who still has M50s.

The M50 is the only speaker I have yet to hear, at least from the main line up. I want to hear the M0's and the rest of the on wall series. You guys going to Axiom in September will be invaluable to the forums after hearing all they have to offer.

I think I may be the only active board member who still has M50s. I've got your back, man! I really like my M50's. However I haven't compared them to any others. I bought mine for two reasons . . . I - A very tight budget . . . II - With 4 kids (oldest is 6) I didn't want any stand mounted speakers like the M22 so I went with the towers. I've been very happy with them. I'm also running the VP100 for a center channel. Like others have mentioned, if I had the VP150 I'd also lean towards the M60's.

Ah, my mistake! We had very similar reasons for the M50s, my friend!
