Do the M22's need the same space from the wall as the M60/M80's?

They do not. Just a few inches from the wall should be sufficient. I preferred the bass from my M22s when I had them mounted on the wall with Axiom's Full Metal Brackets. They had the port about 2 - 3 inches from the wall.

M60's sound theatrical, bigger, and impressive for watching movies than the M22's.
I, however, mostly listen to music, and prefer the midrange and clarity of the M22's.

I've been trying to find the biggest/best sound in the smallest package that preferably could be wall mounted.
I was just wondering if anyone has tried, or heard someone else's opinion of mounting M2 above the M50.
Edit: this would stick out 4 inches less than the M60.

I think you just picked Axiom's 2 least popular speakers there.

I, however, mostly listen to music, and prefer the midrange and clarity of the M22's. Interesting. Is that with or without a properly tuned subwoofer? How large of a room? How loud? What type of receiver are you using? Inquiring minds want to know....

I think you just picked Axiom's 2 least popular speakers there. That's true, but think about it. The bass of the M50 and the mids/highs of the M2. This might make a perfect marriage. All in a package small enough to perhaps be wall mountable. I guess what I'm looking for is something that's almost as good as the M80, yet small enough to be mounted on the wall.

Personally, I'm very skeptical of the combine two different speakers for one channel idea. It just seems like asking for impedance, time matching, phase, and other types of trouble.

It's called an M60... No the M60 sticks out 4 inches more than the M50. That's a lot when mounting it on the wall in a narrow spot. Edit: Also paired with the M2 sounds like it would have better highs than the M60 alone.
