I understand the the new Axiom V3 speakrs have a redesigned tweeter and crossover. I am assuming that the new VP180 has the new redisigned tweeter and crossover as well, and I am wondering how this matches up with the M80 and M60 V2 and ti models.
Thoughts???

Pretty well, from all accounts of the VP180 owners. There's only one or two people with v3 across the board.

Hi Paul,
You'd find the VP180's tonal match to be quite close overall to the M60v2 and perhaps subtly smoother on some vocals and brasses.
The tonal match to the M80 v2 or ti (Fall of 2003) will be excellent. If you have an M80ti made prior to Fall of 2003, you'll really notice that vocals, brasses, saxes and horns are considerably smoother on the VP180. The overall tonal match will still be consistent to the very old "ti". The Fall of 2003 "ti" was the time of the first major crossover adjustment that later became the "M80 v2" in 2005.

I have a 180 with a pair of V2 M80's and I think it is an incredible combo. Never have I been able to hear a difference. Also, I had my M60's that are from 2004 hooked up with the 180 and still their was no difference.
You should be just fine.

Exellent feedback!
It really speaks to how well Axiom achieves its design goal of a flat neutral speaker.
