Just joined the forum group after reading posts for a couple of weeks. This past Friday, I received the first shipment of what will eventually be an awesome system! I have 2 M60's and VP150 and, based on recommendations here, will eventually add QSR8's and perhaps a HSU sub. Oh, and a desperately needed new receiver is also part of the plan. I am very fortunate to have a wife who somewhat 'understands' my desire to invest this level of $ into this new venture. To her, there was nothing wrong with my old setup (Kenwood Theater-In-A-Box). I think she has just grown weary of my ongoing references to a 'dream system'. I have promised her that this will be the LAST system I will ever ask for and I will not get bitten by the dreaded 'upgrade-itis' bug. Hopefully, I can keep that promise!

Anyway, back to my Axioms - the speakers sound as awesome as you all said they would! Even using a very low-end Kenwood 5.1 receiver (yikes!)...And, they look as good as they sound. Needless to say, I am very happy with this initial purchase.

I just wanted to commend all you audiophiles on this Board for your informative postings for newbie people like myself who rely on your advice in order to make wise decisions. Your views, opinions and experiences have certainly helped me to cut throught the 'clutter' and hype.

I do have a couple of low res pics I can offer up of my new Axioms (but have to figure out how to get them posted). Lastly, I see another fairly new person on here is a TN Vol fan. Small world....please don't hold that against us, it has been tough being a fan the last few years...

Take care - have a great day!

How do you know that the toothbrush was invented in Tennessee?

Because if were invented anywhere else they would have called it the teethbrush.

Nice speakers by the way.

You could probably use any school/state in the SEC for that one.

I'm always happy to here the story of another happy Axiom-ite(?). I am very close to buying mine (M60,VP150,QS8 and a ??? sub). I am not sure whether to buy all of them now or "try-out" the M60s first. Choosing the speakers was easy, now on to the color! I'm leaning towards the Boston Cherry. (If only it was New York Cherry!)

Anyway, hope you enjoy your system. Sorry I can't add to the SEC jokes, I'm from the Big East (Rutgers).

John

I too have the same set up. The Kenwood is a VR-6050 100W X 5 and it to will shut down ones in awhile. Like ½ way threw the bombing seine in Pearl Harbor. But I had it turned up –8db. So I had to late it cool down a bit before it came back on.

I thought I would include a pic of my set up. But have not found out how to do that yet.

I just purchased the same system as you and I love it. I run everything with a Yamaha 2400 reciever and it sounds incredible. There are so many audio modes and an auto configurator that I thought was helpful.
Normally I would be bitter about what the Vols did to the Gamecocks ... again ... but considering your taste in speakers I guess I can look past that By the way you're going to love the QS8's - WOW they continually surprise me.

Congrats on your purchase. As you new guys learn things about your setup and HT in general be sure to stick around and contribute to the knowledge base!

-Nick

P.S. My dad was a Vol so I am to even though I went to school up here in Michigan. Won't get any crap out of me!

My M60's make me listen
My M80's make my ears hear
Either way - I'm not deaf anymore
