All;
I own an M80-600 system and was thinking about upgrading my center channel to get more oomph. I have 3 options I suppose:
1. add another VP150 above my screen 2. sell my VP150 and get a VP180 3. upgrade to a perf screen and buy a M80 to use as a center
2 of the 3 options involves me selling my current VP150. I'm not very good at selling stuff as I don't like the hassle of it.
Any thoughts?

You could try deals.axiomaudio.com to sell the VP150, which will give you what is essentially an Axiom gift cert for the amount you sold it. Might work, might not.

I don't believe that any screen worthy of a decent projector can also be "acoustically transparent".
I'd get a VP180.

yea I'm a bit leery of acoustic screens. I think I will take the VP180 upgrade approach after I clear it with the misses thanks all.

I'd get a VP180. Check out Screen Excellence screens. * Video Enlightor 4K is the ultimate neutral projection surface, providing an absolute whiteness. It also presents a negligible gain loss when compared to perforated screens. Its total absence of visible structure equals the best existing solid screen materials. In terms of video imaging quality, the Enlightor 4K sets a benchmark. * Audio Enlightor 4K acoustic transparency differs from any other AT screen fabric : It provides a uniform attenuation of -2.5 dB over the whole frequency spectrum, hence allowing to simply reajust volume level on the front channels without any type of EQ. This is the screen I have my eye on for my future HT. So far, I entend to get a 2.35:1 screen and put 3 in-cabinet M80's behind the screen.

I’m with Tom on the VP180. Though I’m a big proponent of vertical center speakers matching the mains I can’t see changing screens unless the plan is to be able to place all the speakers behind it. In addition one must consider speaker distance to the wall if placed behind an AT screen which could profoundly effect the bass and imaging if there’s not much room for adjusting speaker placement do to the distance it would require the screen to stand off from the wall.
I weighed all the factors involved in using an AT screen and saw to many potential compromises to both SQ and PQ and not just from the screen but also do to placement constraints it would cause the speakers unless I wanted to start knocking down walls. In the end chose a M80 and hung the screen above all 3 so I have no PQ or SQ constraints.
Nothing wrong with an AT screen if you can use one properly but IMO many people don’t look at all the factors involved.

It's not something for everyone, by any means, but since, for me, the wall happens to be the garage wall, I can afford to protrude into the garage side of it a bit. It it was an exterior wall or the kitchen, I'd be having second thoughts.
Do I win any awards for longest sentence in this one?

That is the perfect setup I will be shooting for in the next house. Thanks for the link to the screen.

If you've got room behind the wall where the in-cabinet speakers will be located; you might want to investigate an infinite baffle subwoofer.

That's a cool link, and their marketing folks do make it sound good. I'm just skeptical, I guess. I should probably look for some measurements or double-blind tests by trusted parties to help me validate my internal disconnect. uniform attenuation of -2.5 dB over the whole frequency spectrum That just seems impossible to me. But - again - I'm not one of the science guys.
