Hey guys, just joined up. I'm on avs, eD, and CHT....starting to look around more at other audio choices for my HT. HT is 13.5x33.x9. ~4000 sqft3. Anyways...looking for suggestions for Surrounds and maybe more.. L/C/R would NEED to be wall mounted. I'm kind of sold on horn speakers, but you never know... HuskerOmaha's AVSForum Build Thread There is a link. Here is one shot to get anyone interested started... I've been recommended to check out the QS8 surrounds for my limited width in the room and the location of each. What are some other choices you'd recommend for me from Axiom or others? Planning on getting CHT/Epik/eD/UFW-15 pair of subs...but still undecided on my L/C/R, Heights, and Surrounds. TIA, Happy New Year! EDIT: The bar is now pulled all the way to the right wall; anchored right under the right surround location.

Welcome aboard, looking forward to seeing the final product.
Good choice of subs there, I think any sub from one of those manufacturers would be an excellent choice.
If the front are to be wall mounted I would suggest looking at the M22 in/on walls for LR and then a VP100 or 150 in/on wall for the center and then the QS8 for surrounds, they all have a good timbre match and sound very close to their bookshelf design brethren; when combined with one of those subs you should be good to go.
I might also suggest another vertical in/on wall speaker for a center as the horizontal dispersion is superior to that of the VP series but your room doesn't look to be overly wide and I will guess all seats will be directly in front of the screen.

Jason,
Thanks for the info..I was kind of thinking M22/VP150 would be the choices if I went Axiom route. I kind of think I'm sold on the QS8, even if I get CHT SHO-10 or JBL Pro 3677 (I'm crazy) from other places....those surrounds look perfect.
The seating is offset a small bit to the left of center..but otherwise, I'll have 4 Berkline 13175s and 4 bar stools...
It is getting fun...tiling Monday.
Happy New Year! I'm stuck at work!

I'm guessing NO, but has anyone wall mounted the VP180?

It's waaaaaay too deep for that, and front heavy to boot. If you want to say bye bye to an expensive speaker, a hunk of drywall, and whatever is underneath it, go for it!

Concerning the L/R/C, I would use the boxy versions and wall mount them, if possible, or go with a tower version, before I would use any of the on-wall varieties, because they do give the extra edge to better sound quality. But, if that's not possible, then the on/in wall or on wall would be my second choice.

I'm guessing NO, but has anyone wall mounted the VP180? As previously said, way to heavy. There is however a in-cabinet version if at all possible.

If you wanted to build a cabinet to house the L/C/R at the front that is 20" deep, you could go with a 'hidden' in cabinet system with the in cabinet versions of the M60/M80s and the VP180.

What did you guys think, being an Axiom board, about the Audioholics review on the Emotiva ERD-1 where the reviewer said the ERD bested the QS8 in "almost any metric I can think of".
Just wondering, I'm down to those 2 for my surrounds...price is quite different...sometimes the Emotiva drops to $250/pr.
I've heard good things about both!

Order both and and see for yourself, send back the ones you don't care for.
