I imagine that'll mostly be laptops and small form factor machines.

umm ...All of um! (Well not 2 in server so I gues 32TB)

Main box: 6 sata port - 8 port sata-controller - 2 E-Sata Controllers - 10 hotswap bays - 3 5.25 bays external-internal

Mainbox: SB 2600K/12GB/64GB SSD (OS)- 1 ea LG 10X Bluray - 1 ea external bare drive hotswap for backups - 8 ea 2TB WD EARS (BR-DVD) 2 ea 2TB WD EURS (recorded TV)

Server Box 8 hot swap drives - 1 slim Bluray drive

Server: iCore i5-650/8gb/32gb SSD: 2 ea 1.5TB WD's Backup (OS's-Music-Photos) 1 ea slim BR

HTPC Drives in Serverbox on 2 ea Adaptic 5 port E-Sata multipliers: 1 ea 2TB WD EARS (BR-DVD) 2 ea 1.5TB WD (BR-DVD) 2 ea 1.5TB WD (Recorded TV Movies) 1 ea 1TB WD Music-Photos)

Do you know about the disk corruption that's occurring with the 3 Gb SATA interfaces? Only the first two, 6 Gb SATA ports can be used without data loss being likely.

Edit: More specifically, boards featuring Intel's P67 and H67 chipsets.

Yes, actually it's the 4 sata II ports that degrade because of the controller chip. Sata III ports (2 ea) not problems. I think 5% to 15% failure forecast over 3-5 years. Replacement boards coming in April, maybe they will upgrade me to the X67 smile ... No problems yet, no worries. I don't think data loss is the main concern, I think it's losing the port. BUt all mine purring now and hopefully till April replacement

My "data" on this machine is movies and music, so no worries, music is backed up, have disks if needed.

Called JC yesterday after my last post to check on status of order.

He said they were on my porch according to FedEx. (never got a shipping notice! And the last two Axiom orders FedEx left at the right address, wrong street)

So I decided I had worked long enough for the day and went home.

I also had the factory at work build me "two temporary wall mounts" for the M22 in/ons that put the new wide speakers at the exact same height as my existing M22 in/ons so I could check placement and move them around. And they were complete yesterday. Already had the speaker wire delivery from monoprice.

So I strung wires on he floor across the house from the rack, mounted the QS8s and M22s (on temp boards) and ran the Audyssey DSX setup last night.

I reaaly really wuv Heights & Wides and 9.1! 9.2 maybe coming soon.

It's going to be a great couple weeks testing all the options placement options, movies, music and getting these babies permanently mounted, wired and up and running!

What a great hobby

Glad I went with the QS8s.

Now I'm anxious to get the whole room done. Remodeled, painted, carpet, furniture and decorating. I've been waiting till I had all the speakers I wanted all mounted and all the holes/wires in walls, to get started.

As you can tell by my post I'm very happy and excited with the recent changes and additions!

Thanks for listening

Jeff
