I am wondering if someone with the ceiling mounts for the qs8's can tell me how low from the ceiling is the bottom of the speaker when mounted?

Back when i got my QS8's, there were no such ceiling mounts. I used the FMB mounted to ceiling, but it's too high and close to the ceiling and I do not like the sound. Years back some lady from Axiom emailed me after seeing my QS8's mounted to the Ceiling asking for more pics of it as they had not seen it done before.....and a few months later, suddently a Ceiling mount bracket was for sale at Axiom lol. I'm redoing theater now so if I'm going to move speakers this is the time. Much lower mounts would save me a lot of time.

I'm just wondering how much lower I can expect them to be.

I believe they allow the top of the speaker to be about 3 inches from the ceiling; I always felt it needed to be twice that. I will dig through my boxes and try to find mine to let you know for sure, hopefully someone else that is currently using one will be by sooner.

thanks guys. Still sounds too low if it's only 3" and 12" to bottom

using the fmb, the bottom of my qs8 speaker now is almost 11" as is. I think it's 10.75 actually.

I might revert back to the L brackets and lower them that way, but then I have to run cables frown

from the ceiling, 4.5" & 10.5" to the bottom of the speaker (with the grills on) and with the speaker at 90 degrees. that is using a QS4 speaker which i have a pair of them ceiling mounted. there won't be too much of a difference with the QS8's (i don't think) or about a difference of 2" which is the height difference.

So that would make it 3.5" from the top and 11.5" to the bottom.
