As a Dad, I thank you. Just getting ready to head out with the family. As an early gift my oldest took me to see The Green Lantern yesterday. I suspect it will set a new standard for LFE when released on DVD/BR.

Some of us should be thanked for NOT fathering children. Can I get a pat on the back, too?

Really, though, Happy Father's Day. I splurged and got my dad one of those Parrot AR.Drones. I just hope he doesn't expect a birthday gift now. Ha ha.

Charles, if you deserve a pat on the back for not reproducing, then I suggest that I deserve my own religion.

Hey, as long as I don't have to worship your point of unrealized potential. Ha ha.

You're 1/2 way there. All of my unrealized potential resided twice the distance from the floor as your reference point. Could be different for others?

Maybe we should ask "The Dads?"

Charles, wouldn't it be way cool if we could get them to do to each other in a parenting thread what they do to each other in socio/political threads?

"Yes, you can potty train them by throwing candy into the toilet."

"Who told you that?" (add insult, defaming, accusations, anger)

"Well, it worked for me."

"Then I wouldn't wanna meet your kids when..."

Dad Fight! Dad Fight! Dad Fight!

Funny, my wife was commenting last night that men don't seem to have daddy wars.

In Massachusetts, hockey dads have actually died at the hands of other hockey dads. Then again, we have transvestite dermatolgists who shoot their wives in front of the kids.

We've had 391 years to work on his stuff. But California, Texas and Florida have made huge strides since WWII.

It's an unforgivable transgression to war with fellow Dads. I mean, seriously, we're all already so tired from wives, mothers and children that we just need a beer, not a confrontation.

I salute the Axiom Dads I know. They are amazing men.

As to Charles and Bob, well, um, "thanks"?

20 minutes too late, but Happy Father's Day to you all, as well. I spent the day -- weekend, actually -- about 290 miles away from kids and wife. They've been up in PA since Friday and won't be back until Wednesday. So what did I do?

Friday night I drank too much with some friends from work.

Saturday I woke up around 11am with a hangover. I got a haircut and then went to a pool party that a friend from work was throwing. He and his mom cooked a bunch of korean food -- YUM! Another friend brought a keg of homebrew -- an Anchor Steam clone that came out really great. Someone brought a board game called Seven Wonders and I played it. The game is totally complex and geeky, but I had a blast and ended up coming in second place. The guy who who was the most confused by the game scored one more point than me and got first place.

Sunday, I woke up at 11am again. I bottled my latest batch of homebrew (a brown ale reminiscent of Newcastle). My kids called me to wish me a Happy Father's Day, then I called my dad to do the same. I only left the house today to take out the trash -- my wife will be happy I remembered. wink

All in all, not a bad weekend. smile

You mean this isn't the official website of the Cult of Bob's Unrealized Potential?

If so, I'm filings a discrimination complaint!

And there'd better be a f*%&#^$g elevator and hot assistant to help me!

The Church of Bob does have chemical additives, but there will be no Nikes, because The Winged Victory of Samothrace was a flit and a slut. At least she was back when I knew her.

Like, doi! It says right on the lable of every Diazepam script, "Take with Alcohol." It also must, by Federal law, appear on every schedule III narcotic label. I thought you already knew that.

You should read the labels more carefully. I'm sure that if you do, you will find you've been taking other medications incorrectly.

Call your doctor immediately upon any signs of ventricular tachycardia, fatal stroke, or death.

He may need to reduce your dose.

I just read online that a signifier of stroke and death is a loss of sensation in your extremities.

What the heck.......!?

I should probably get checked out, eh?
