You need to put this list in a gmail spread sheet, similar to how I have my movie list. gmail has an option that allows me to publish the list as a web site. That way, you can just post a link to it, and every time you modify the document, the link previously posted will point to the changed document.

Here's my movie list, and Here's a list of movies nominated for best picture that I made a while back.

for a long time now, i've been listening to the music on this list for about 2-4 hours a day; there is so much that i forget a lot.
i haven't had time enough yet to have listened to all this.

i can't tell you which i like the most or which one you should get.
if you insist, i could listen to the 3 albums of Beausoleil and then tell you what i think.
a long list like mine does not mean i'm a knowledgeable person about bands or music or whatever. i just listen to what moves me, so i move a lot... ;-)

if anyone would like to make a list similar to mine, it can be done easily with a small program which you can find on the net by making a search for "koolguy's listmaker".

if the music is in your pc, then it's done in a blink;
if it's on cd/dvd, then it's done as fast as you can change cd's in the player.

I jest, we actually overlap about 70%. But there are some strange holes. You have Zeppelin's entire catalog, but actively reject the Stones; both legandary blues based bands. Tom Petty, but no Traveling wilburys. Styx & AC/DC, but no Aerosmith. Cream, but no Clapton. And no Little Feat, just because. I think you have some explaining to do.

J.B., interesting list. But no "Kind of Blue"? I had completely forgotten about Beausoleil. I remember liking them way back when, probably college. But somehow they never made my album to CD transition. I'll have to pick one up. Any suggestion for choosing just one CD?

Cork:
You know, that'd be a very bad nickname here in Boston.

Forgot Little Feat catalog, 'cause it's in my woodshop, with my Snells......, and Morgan Fairchild, whom I've slept with.

Have Wilbury's and Aero...thought they were included. And, as I said, the most obvious missing things that a list "like this" should include, were part of my vinyl collection, which I left behind on Vinyl Haven(ne, McNeal Arizona---300sq. mi/200 residents_. I just could not bear to move again (19 times in 22 years at that point).
I would re-buy only one Stones album--Let it Bleed. Liked more of 'em , but that was always my fave.

This'll piss 'em off--I always thought that the Stones were sometimes fun (like R & R sould be), but otherwise, a very sloppy band.

Always call the place you live a house. When you're old, everyone else will call it a home.

Brian, I appreciate the suggestion, but, it's no more likely to ever happen than a webcam.

Even though it's gotten well up over 1,000 at a time, I edit constantly. If it hasn't seen the light of day in > 2 years, it's history.

It's way less a collection than it is a highly fluid, working playlist.

I listen about 30 hours a week. I go through music like lemonade on a lovely July day this week in Omaha. If I can live without it for that long, I can live without it.

JB's list includes the word, "negro," and it's not capped!

Hellbound!

You MUST believe me, it's NOT my fault, it's NOT my fault, but that of Alan Lomax and others, the "specialists" in the industry. ;-)

Will anyone read my list line by line? I did. ;-)

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

J.B., no need to critique your Beausoleil, I'll just pick one.
Just thought you might have a favorite off the top of your head.

BobKay, do tell, why would Cork be a bad name in Boston? If I accidentally use my nickname up your way it couldn't hurt to know what I'm getting myself in for.

And as for, "Forgot Little Feat catalog, 'cause it's in my woodshop, with my Snells......, and Morgan Fairchild, whom I've slept with." - WTF? I have no idea where that came from, or went, or how it ties LF to an old Weekend Update skit. But I laughed out loud anyway.

And I kind of agree with you on the Stones. They have some great material, but it represent about a quater of their catalog. The only album I listen to with any regularity is Sticky Fingers.
