The Book Thief

Enjoyable story with excellent acting using Nazi Germany as the backdrop. Sad in many ways, but hopeful...liked.

That one surprised me as well. I had written it off as a chick flick because my wife bragged about the book. That was an unfair assessment. It is nothing like a chick flick. Great movie.

Besides Twin Peaks, which I'm almost done with, I've also been re-watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. Still love Larry David. I sincerely hope his real life doesn't approach that level of awkward on a regular basis.

I finally got Flash Point on Blu-ray. I'd watched the DVD, but it's been a while. Like a lot of action movies, the story is unfortunately lackluster, though not as godawful as some. Of course the real draw is Donnie Yen's martial arts, and when it finally culminates in a too-long (in the best possible way) fight scene at the end, it's all worth it.

I loved Guardians. My wife and I saw it the other night and both of us were cracking up the whole movie.

The fact the movie theatre serves adult drinks probably helped, but it was a lot of fun.

Yeah, wasn't really feeling Twin Peaks. The mixture of elements was engaging for a little while, but it got too wrapped up in its own weirdness, and there just wasn't enough payoff.
