M22 probably fill that room very nicely with a good sub. However, I've bought floorstanders for smaller rooms for nothing less than the admitted desire to own floorstanders.
First HT room was only 16x16x8, new HT room is only 12x24x8. I admit, I just wanted them but I am extremely happy and that is what counts. I have a much bigger room with vaulted ceilings and it's open to other rooms as well where the 2nd set of M60s really shine. In fact, the almost church like design of this room give it acoustics that make it my favorite place to listen to music.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

I own m80's in a room that is similar in size and think it sounds wonderful. Never heard m22's so don't know if there would be a noticeable difference or not.

70% music 30% movies mostly classic rock and alternative some country Hmm... Tough choice as the M22s paired with a good sub sound quite good. I could tell the difference between the V2 M22 and M80 in a direct comparison. That difference will have increased with the M80 v3. I would probably go with the M80s.
