Hey guys, I saw another deal on that Pioneer VSX-1021-K today, but I also found a few reviews where people were complaining about audio dropouts. Sounded like Iit might be a TiVo issue with hdmi. Anywho, does anyone have one of the latest TiVos, and have you had any hdmi audio issues with it? I don't have one yet, but as soon as TiVo has a sale, I'm buying.

I have a TiVo Premier with a Pioneer VSX-1120-K. Never had even the hint of a problem.

Thanks, Henry!
Amazon's got the Premiere XL for $233 today at least, hopefully through Black Friday, which I'm going to wait for before I buy.

Ken I guess you'll be replacing the Harmon Kardon?

It's more important that I replace the old TiVo, and I don't think I can (make myself) swing both, not with a TiVo lifetime subscription.
The Pioneers are tempting, but I really should research my receiver choice more than "Hey, it's on sale and it looks vaguely like it's got the right ins and outs!"

I gotcha ... I was in the same boat several months ago and ended up replacing the old 635 with a newer AVR 3600 after looking at a few different units, I've been very happy with it so far.
You may want to keep those in mind if you do not require the room equalizing that the Dennons and Pioneers have, which was a non issue for me.

I wouldn't mind having the auto-setup stuff, but I could pass on the equalization. That said, the Dynamic Volume/EQ appeals.

The HK does have a Dynamic Volume, it is a nice feature. It also has very good video upscaling ... I never used the auto setup on the old 635 nor did I use it on the new AVR either. The video upscaling is really good on it.
Whichever AVR you decide on, going from the old 635 (I believe that's what you have?) to the newer units will put a huge smile smile on your face.

525, actually. Anything that has an on-screen interface that isn't a direct descendant of the Commodore 64 would put a smile on my face, really...
