I have managed to use the newer QS speaker Stands with older QS Speakers. Although the hookup does not allow for banana plugs it seems to work quite well. All I used was some number 4 metal nuts and bolts from Canadian tire and move the small attachment metal plate above the platform holding the speaker (instead of below). After this I placed one nut as a spacer between the attachment plate and the base and then another nut underneath to tighten it up. This seemed to compensate for the additional space needed to secure the speaker. It is centered, secure and functional.
