Best Driving Game: Forza Motorsport 4
Best Action/Adventure: L.A Noire
Best FPS: Gears of War 3
Best RPG: Elder Scrolls V: Skryim
Best Puzzle Game: Portal 2
Game Of The Year (GOTY)...drum roll - Batman: Arkham City (this game is totally under the radar and totally awesome)
Biggest surprise: How fun gaming on a tablet can be.
Whats your favorite or memorable games of 2011?

Skyrim and Portal 2 were the big ones for me. Apparently, Bejeweled 3 came out in December of last year, so it's safe from any praise.
I'm not pulling my weight as a gamer. I can't think of any others I really got into.

I have yet to play Skyrim, but it is on my list. After reading so much about it here it sounds like it is spectacular. Still, I want to wait to see if the PS3 issues can be ironed out eventually.
For action/adventure games, I'll give the nod to Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Inventive puzzles (although not terribly hard) and stunningly recreated exotic locations make the game a joy to behold. Combat is sometimes frustratingly hard, but not impossible.
RPG I will say Dark Souls. Not your typical RPG. It is mysterious, claustrophobic, frustratingly hard, drips atmosphere, and is ultimately rewarding. This is the kind of game that gets under my skin.

I just finished Portal 2 yesterday, and I'm sorry it had to end.
It's the best game by far that I've played in 2011.

I really liked Portal 2.
Batman Arkham City and Forza 4 are shrinked until Christmas, but I got them, I mean, Santa is giving them to me for a reason...

I'm giving Batman Arkham City to my bro-in-law for Christmas. I hope he lets me borrow it!

I may get Arkham City at some point, but I've still barely played Arkham Asylum. I suck!

Arkham Asylum was a lot of fun.
