Really, Mark, mostly they do. And general contractors are far worse.
Always call the place you live a house. When you're old, everyone else will call it a home.

Really, Mark, mostly they do. And general contractors are far worse. Nope, you just have to have been in business long enough to know what contractors to work with. Those guys usually make a living doing commercial work where people will pay for reputation and the ability to get work done. My dad had his list of go to guys he could always rely on. I guess that means all the crappy ones end up on the retail side of things... except you Bob.

Surprisingly, I can't say a single bad word about the general contractor that built our last house. It was actually a pleasurable experience instead of a stressful one.
That being said, the one before him was a nightmare. Just about everything bad you can think of, applies.
Just thought I'd throw some positive into it. General contractors have a bad reputation here like everywhere else and it is probably deserved in many (maybe even most) cases but there are a few gems if you look hard enough and talk to enough people.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.
