Just bought a pair of M3tis in Beech... sub to follow (kind of concerned about auto-power off subs)... centre channel is home built from my do-it-yourself days (eventually a VP-series) and I've got some wall treatment work (ie: demolition and redrywall -- who uses cedar shakes for panelling?) to do before putting up QS4 surrounds... all in time, I guess.

Did you keep some of that phone cable you pulled out of the ceiling to wire your new speakers?

cedar shakes? oh my...!
My office is in an old building and it's being renovated. The general contractor told us that the existing floorboards and the door frames are made from mahogany of a quality you can't find any more. Unfortunately, it's all painted over.

Oh, of course... nothing says quality like 28ga station wire!

Yeah, it's kind of a neat rustic look for the top section of wall... just not my bag though... going to tear it off (eventually) and either reboard or skimcoat.

I think you're going to love the M3s! Not that it makes a difference, but what's the rest of your rig, and what kind of music do you listen to?

AV Receiver : Yamaha RX-V540
DVD Player : Toshiba SD-1800
CD Player : Harman-Kardon FL-8550 5-disc carousel
Turntable : Sony PS-LX250H
VCR : Citizen ??? (fiancee's - exists to tape her soaps and the occasional soccer game for me)
Cassette Deck: Aiwa AD-WX616C (yes, it's in a box right now)
Television : 27" RCA tube (fiancee's)
Fave music is political punk (Anti-Flag, Dead Kennedys, Lard, NOFX, etc) with a minor in alternative. Not much of a movie/TV fan at all... have a few fave movies but that's about it... can't sit still for 1.5 hours.

Just a shot in the dark, Bren, but I think you might like Lucky Boys Confusion. They're a band out of Chicago, high energy punk/alternative (more alternative than punk) act. Wonderful live, but their CDs are still great.
