I am in the process of trying to decide on speakers. I am pretty sure on the M22 as fronts and the VP 150 center. I cannot decide though if I should go with 3 M3's as surrounds or 3 QS8's. I will use system 90%HT and %10 music. I have read pro's and con's for both ways and cannot make up my mind. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will get a HSU sub.

For sure go with a pair of QS8s on the side (if it's for home theater, which I assume it is based on the forum you're in ). As far as the back speaker, I've been wondering the same thing myself. Direct or multidirectional.

Second vote for QS8 surrounds. The most common choice around these parts for rears has been a pair of M2i's.
Good call on the Hsu.

So, 3 QS8's for back L,R and Center. Will they perform ok if I go with SACD or DVD-Audio at a later date?

While I've never heard the M3's, based on a lot of other users opinions here, they will provide amore robust bass response than the QS8's for either DVD-A or SACD audio. Having said that though, I must say that the QS8's are fantastic as they really spread the sound around, enveloping you in music.
Happy hunting....

A more robust bass in a bookshelf speaker is not needed when you have a sub working in the room IMO. I think most of these rear speaker questions really comes down to what a person likes. Do you like to be enveloped in the sound or do you like to hear more directional sound. I like a more enveloping sound, thus I purchased the QS8. I don't think anyone interested in a HT experience could go wrong with the QS series speakers.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will go with the QS8's. Like I said I use mostly for HT, and apparently they will work well with music as well.

enjoy the input, keep it coming.
i'm beginning to build an axiom speaker system...
i'm beside myself on the surrounds. i had direct firing speakers in my previous setup and enjoyed them. one other aspect i've thought of is video games. i wonder how the qs8s will do with video games when you need to be able to hear things behind you (L/R specific)?

They work pretty well in my experience. I have a ps2 connected via digital optical and an xbox via the normal rca (then let the receiver do the DSP work). Splinter Cell is pretty cool in surround on my xbox and Ratchet and Clank "going commando" is a blast. I use QS8s in a 5.1 for my surrounds.
