Train cats to chew through power cords. Choose cords that take over two hours to chew through. Place Craigslist add stating "will take in unwanted kittens or strays." for replacement timers.
With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

Might just work. But, no, she won't chew threw through power cords. Just microphone cords. They're more "tender".
I just noticed the training part... Hmmm. Wouldn't the timer expire before the time ran out?

If you have never bought a TV from amazon, this would be worth a read, it was very enlightening for me....

A link would be nice. I bought my panny plasma from amazon around 2 years ago. It was 60% off retail (well what they said was retail), free shipping and no tax. I was worried too about what would happen if I got a lemon. But thankfully it wasnt a problem. I didnt actually buy it from amazon, but a place that sells throguh amazon. I have bought other items this way, and the only thing that came basically doa was a chair massager that I sent back and they are in process of giving me a new one.

If it's DOA, I'm fairly sure they'd replace it, but what if it's just a few dead pixels, or some cosmetic blemish, or something else that's nothing major, but irritating, like a buzzing that's too loud. It might be that these things didn't happen right away, but sometime before the warranty expires. Or it take me a few months to notice that something was wrong, or not working. Is there a guarantee that they are going to make good on it, or am I possibly just SOL? How can I guarantee that I'm not getting a used for new exchange when I thought I bought new? Maybe it had some minor problem and the seller is trying to pawn if off on me. How can I guarantee that I'm not getting some old model that's been sitting in the back of someones warehouse that's before a lot of major fixes have taken place on the newer ones? I worry about these things.

yeah i can understand those concerns. I know amazon offers some sort of 5 year warranty thing that is similar to best buys. Not sure how if works if you get credit or whatever. What I returned wasnt necessarily DOA.. it just rattled like there was something broken, still worked, but rattled, and sent back no problems. But yeah, having a place to go back to and talk to a manager is peace of mind. But the prices and free shipping and no taxes are what made me pull the trigger, and I couldnt be happier.
Oh and burn in, I have a have done that numerous times, slept with menu on for hours. Havent had burn in issue yet.

Concerning the return shipping. It looks like you have a 30 day window to return an item with Amazon.com. After that 30 day window, everything starts to look a little fuzzy.
Concerning Square Trade warranty service. From reading the reviews, it looks like a possible scam company today.
"So beware. Read the contract and know what you're getting for the money (maybe worth it for you, maybe not). It's NOT your standard extended warranty contract, and in my experience Squaretrade has been very deceptive about that fact."

yeah, i dont know about that warranty just remember seeing something when purchasing my tv about a warranty and thats what i found looking through amazon. I never buy those things for electronics anyways unless its around 5% of the purchase price. If electronics are to go bad, they tend to go bad in the first year manufacturer's warranty anyways. Maybe amazon isnt for you, thats up to you. I'm just saying I had a good experience purchasing through amazon with both price and quality of product.
