is there much difference in finishes between the stock Cherry and the custom finishes ? Just don't want to spend the extra extra on a real wood finich is there is a bog difference.

How do you mean 'much difference'? The real cherry does look different from the stock vinyl cherry definitely - are you looking at Cherry Bordeaux? It's a little hard to show in a photograph since vinyl is in fact a photograph of wood, but if I can provide you with any photos I'd be happy to.

Vinyl siding or real cedar shingles? Hmmm?
Axiomman, when you're getting ready to pull the trigger, for a small fee (refundable upon return) Axiom will send you samples so you can compare for yourself.
IMO their performance is too reasonably priced not to get 'em in wood (though you'll have to wait a little longer for them). Plus, the choices of combinations of wood species, stain colors, finish sheens and grille colors will make them look super custom.

Amy, I was thinking more along the lines of Boston Cherry standard finish, and the Vinyl finishes Sorrel Pear.
I want HG Cherry but, that is no longer available, unless I order it in real wood.
I am trying to figure out if I really need M80's how much is it to ship the M60's back. Wish I could have the M60 and M80 side by side to compare.
Just trying to decide, I am having two systems one in living room for music mostly, not at high volumes and for tv ( tsn, news, sitcoms ) probably 1 hr aday.
downstairs in the movie room, is well mostly movies and tv and will get 90% of the usage. Not sure yet for movie room if I am going towers or bookshelves. Where it gets tricky because upstairs I want to show off so they will be real wood Cherry Bordeaux, unless the Sorrel Pear is really a step above the standard Boston Cherry. Also, it is here I am unsure if M80's will make a difference ( alot ) over the M60's specially when running a Martin Logan Depth sub.

Don't listen to Bob! I thought Axiom made a mistake and sent me wood finished speakers and he was the evil man who came over to my house and gleefully pointed out that they were in fact vinyl. A true friend would have left me to my bliss.

We have to make the real wood samples to order so they take a couple of days.

I should have a set of M60's in Cherry Bordeaux semi-gloss in a few days. I can take a few pictures of them next to my Boston Cherry vinyl M80's if you would like.

OK, Called Axiom today spoke to Brent, I now know what I thought I knew, plus a little more clarification. Going to order samples of CHerry Bordeaux Semi-gloss and Cinnamon Beech Vinyl. This will be my M80's for upstairs music. Then I am ordering hopefully next week M60's for my movie room and build on that with the 160 and Qs8's in black.

I just need to figure out if I need M60 or M80 I finally got around to uploading the pictures I promised to post. Sorry for being so late. Boston Cherry Vinyl M80, Cherry, Bordeaux semi-gloss M60. The M22's and QS8's in the last pic are Boston Cherry vinyl. The bottom one is a crappy pic, I was too lazy to get out the tripod.

Plus, in the winter, it's in the low minus 200s....
Edit: I've always loved that room too.

Plus, in the winter, it's in the low minus 200s.... Aw, c'mon, Sean! He used the inverse of that same joke about Yuma. Now that all of his north/south jokes are played out...

I don't know when, but I'm definitely showing up some day. Uh-hu....I seam to recall a time when you could drive twenty miles to have a beer with me, so I suspect I'll probably have moved before you make it here. But you and your better half are always welcome, you know that. Just don't bring Mark or that lunatic shrink. Thanks fellers! We enjoy it almost every day. I'll most likely ditch the width speakers though. They're cool for some BR's, but the room's too small. They're just in the way.

Puyallup to Bellingham is 123 miles, but I get your point. I live with the guilt every day. Cool room. Is that a single seat in the back or a loveseat or what? How many people can actually watch a movie in there?

No need to live with guilt, I'm just giving you a hard time. One love seat and the Ekornes recliner in the room right now, so only three. I had the love seat, couch and the recliner in this room, but got tired of looking at the couch and while hauling it to the dump the boys latched onto it and who the hell knows where it is now. I have an IMG-Norway three seat recliner on order, so eventually, there will be room for four, maybe five. Their recliners are built to order, so I have about four months before it shows up.

Very nice setup Michael, the wife was just asking about you guys the other night, she got a job offer to be the Chief of Staff at some hospital in Fairbanks. Of course I looked at her like she was crazy since I can barely live where the temps drops below 32F.

Ya but the summer's are nice in Frbx..... The winters on the other hand.... I think they had over three weeks straight of temps under -30F this last winter. It will routinely get -50F, but only for a day or two, maybe a week.

Lol Tom, she is Chief of Staff here at our small Hospital, I think that is why she is starting to get these kind of job opportunities. Although there is more pay involved with the position I think she would rather just practice Medicine alone than having to deal with Hospital politics also. Now if we could just do Alaska in the summer that would be something to think about

What kind of dogs do you have? When our kids were still living at home we raised and socialized guide dog puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael CA. A great experience to have a dog you worked with become a guide.
