Are you saying the M22 has a better low end than the EMPs? It should be the other way around given that the EMPs are a tower speaker.

Having listened to the M22, M60 and M80 in direct comparison to each other, I would say that, as good as the M22 is, the will be better with a sub to fill in below 60 Hz. The M22 is an outstanding speaker, but it is only a bookshelf.
