Hello , i want to know your opinion on wich one to keep. If you have listened to both and know the build quality of both , let me know what you think. I have a Yamaha rxa1000 to power the speakers and a 12" bic america sub, i listen to mostly Jazz and use them for home theater. I have the Emp e5ti towers and also have the Axiom m22s and i can only keep one of the two. I also have the axiom vp150 center that i will use with either set of speakers. I do like the look of the emp e5ti but im mostly concerned with the long term preformance of either set. Im fairly new to this home theater stuff so that why i ask. Thanks in advanced.

Hi Carlos. I have heard neither. Listen and keep the ones you like better. The center in the mix would tilt towards the matching Axioms.
M3 and M80

Carlos, welcome. You're not likely to find anyone(besides you)who've heard both those speakers, much less compared them under identical conditions(which is the only way that counts). I've used the M22s for nearly 10 years now and give them the highest recommendation, but as to a comparison with the EMPs, it has to be your individual decision.

Thanks for the warm welcome. The main thing I wanted to know is the build quality of the Axioms vs the EMPs. Knowing that one of you has had the Axioms for 10 years and is happy with them says a lot. I know that EMPs are a sister brand from RBH brand, wich is a pretty responsible brand. The one thing that scares me is that The EMPs enclosures are made in China , the tweeter is fabric, have heard some complaints about the crossovers being cheap. Thank you guys for all the help, I'm liking the forum already.

Hello Carlos - ditto on what's been said...listen and evaluate both and select the one you think is preferred. I will say however mated with a good sub the M22's is darn good choice.

For home theater applications you usually want all the speakers matched, if that helps. Also, look at the history/reviews of each company. Axiom has been around for over 30yrs. I've never heard of the other brand. Also, keep in mind your comparing a bookshelf speaker to a floorstander, but I think the 22's can hold their own with a good sub.

Hi carlo's. Welcome to the forums. After 30 yrs with my beloved pioneer speakers i began my search for a home theater speaker. My research led me here and i bought M2's QS4's and vp100. I loved them from day one, and have since added M80's. These speakers sound great and fall right into a price range i can handle. I did some looking into the speakers you mentioned ,and although i have not heard them i will say a few red flags went up that would dissaude me. I went to their site and saw the price which is basically a blow out price - why? I read their reviews of which there are few, and none started with accolades about how great they sound, more about how they looked (who cares). The other reviews were from youtube -what . These speakers remind me of the 2 guys in a white van behind my credit union on pay day . Now i know enough about home theater to say that the speakers need to match sonically so which ever way you go i would suggest you choose a particular brand and stick to it.Use the full 30 days and evaluate both speakers with music that you know and love then make a choice. I am not an axiom fan boy per sey and no one here gets anything for helping or selling , we are just passionate about music. As far as quality , axiom stands behind there product and act quickly should you have a problem and bend over backwards to make you happy. I know this first hand as they have helped me out quickly and politeyly. Richard

Thanks guys for all the replies, it has helped me make a decision. I'm going to setup my m22v3 with the vp150 and get the qs8s for home theater. Ill probably keep the EMPs and get a sunwoofer with a old pioneer receiver and use it for music on another room. Maybe even hook it up to my Yamaha's other room zone. I will keep the axioms because its a solid brand and I know that I have most of the componenets to finish my home theater, I even have a vp100 laying around here, LOL. Thanks again for all the input, you guys brought up a lot of good points.

It's weird to compare a bookshelf speaker (m22) to a tower speaker (EMP 5is). The EMP's will likely be able to play louder and deeper. You should compare the EMP bookshelf to the Axiom m22. I think you will find the M22 to be a more impressive speaker. However, the EMP towers have been getting a lot of high marks at AVS. They look gorgeous and they have RBH Sound people involved, one of the oldest and most respected American speaker brands. See: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1388934Also since you already have an Axiom center, it makes sense to keep your front speakers Axiom (as others here mentioned) unless you plan on changing all of your speakers.

I have both of them so that's why I'm comparing them. Emp doesn't have bookshelfs with two cone subs like the m22 so that wouldn't be the same either. I was just trying to see what owners favor most . I like the finish on the EMPs but I have noticed that they lack low end especially when listening to jazz, you almost have to get sub to go with them . The m22s are All around a better choice for me. Like I said before, I'm going to get the q8S for sorround and finish my home theater. I will probably keep them EMPs for another room and buy another sub.
