Yay, I finally broke down and bought some batteries for my camera. This is definitely a work-in-progress. Need to work on getting 5 speakers mounted next. Replacing the receiver. Returning my harmony 1100 remote for a new one (malfunctioning) using extended warranty. Purchasing an extended warranty for TV at BB this weekend. Getting the TV calibrated on Sunday. Then I'll be broke again.

I ordered 50 foot of CAT6 wire to connect my new receiver to my router for a wired connection for firmware updates.

This is the suggested method to keep from bricking the Denon 3312ci.

These firmware updates are said to take in the neighborhood of 40 minutes.

I'm hoping CAT6 will work the same as CAT5. Able to plug into Ethernet ports and transmit data, etc.

The reason I ordered the CAT6 is because of bad reviews for the cheap CAT5. 50 ft of CAT6 was $11 on Amazon.

Using CAT6 can make the data arrive too quickly and your new receiver may overheat. To mitigate this possibility, you should enable the "bit bucket" feature in the receiver's firmware. This will give the overflow bits a place to go.

Peter, I'm pretty sure Denons don't have the bit bucket option.

I think that's an exclusive feature of Marantz and HK.....(unless Denon offers it as a firmware upgrade, not that it will do much good here)

grin

Perhaps I could install a bit collider, and make money from selling extra power generated to the government.

I was thinking a CAT6 might have different end connecters, or wiring configuration and not be compatible with CAT5.

I found a buyer for my Pioneer Elite with the broken subwoofer jack. My auto mechanic friend with his country garage want's it to drive a couple of largish speakers for his garage. His going to replace his Insignia with it. Doesn't need the subwoofer jack.

Can't wait to tryout the Denon 3312ci next week. I'll probably order it on Sunday so it'll arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I'm so used to MCACC, it'll be interesting what Audyssey will be like.

I've heard that Sears has the Panasonic 65 inch VT50 plasma on sale for $2999.99. I haven't been able to verify that on-line. If that were true, and I could prove it to Best Buy, then I could get an additional $200 back in price match, plus get the 4 year extended warranty for $500 instead of $600. I've got until June 20 before my 30 days runs out for price match.

Sunday a calibrator is coming out to calibrate my TV.

I couldn't believe it. I was going to wait for Sunday to order the Denon avr3312ci receiver for $799.

I just clicked on Amazon.com and guess what was the deal of the day? The Denon avr3312ci receiver for $549.99. It's a done deal. Ordered.

Come here! Mr. Fluffykins. I've got some catnip for you... Go wild!

With that kind of luck, I went by my bank and applied for a credit card. I've been turned down for over 8 years.
Don't have results back yet. Waiting for a call.
Not that I need one. I just wanted to use it as a tool for rebuilding my credit to a better score.
Never charge more than 50% of borrowing limit. Always pay it off in a reasonable amount of time.
Never just pay the minimum. Always pay on time.
