We rented the Jack Ryan - Shadow Recruit Blu Ray last night.

Overall it was pretty good with a dynamic soundtrack; however, I rolled my eyes near the end when the whole diabolical plot is unraveled & solved by the good guys in a miniscule amount of time - something that would take a huge amount of time & effort in the real world.

As is common in many action type movies where critical time is always rapidly running out, I find this artificiality to be annoying rather than exciting & suspenseful. Just once I would like to see the bomb being defused with 10 minutes or so remaining rather than the ubiquitous 3 seconds...

Rented '3 Days to Kill' with Kevin Costner.

Very interesting (different?) story line that seems more of a European movie than Hollywood. Despite the sometimes brutal content there is lots of subtle humour throughout. Great sound as well & really quite enjoyable.

I must say that Costner has sure improved his acting skills since he was cast as 'Robin Hood' back in the early 90s. I quite like his work now..

TAM! How cool that you and Kevin Costner rented a movie together! He seems like a really nice guy, Is he?

On CNN tonight @ 9:00 (real time), they are showing another episode of their 12-parter (?) called, "The Sixties."

I know you all have short memories, and for some, you will have suffered dementia for a decade before anyone actually notices it, but there were a crapload of these kinds shows on in 2010.

We have seen the first 5 or 6 episodes and if far exceeds any of the hyped stuff that showed up in 2010, or in 2013 (Beatles 50th, or, for some of us, the beginning of the universe.)

Each episode concentrates on one issue. Last week was Viet Nam, this week is, I think, the civil rights movement.

If you weren't there, or were still a child, it's a very good way to learn about what was really happening while you were drooling into your Keds, or especially if your first sneaks were Nikes.

For you sporty girls, there's a very interesting show airing on PBS tonight, also @ 9, called, "American Pharaoh," chronicling the Egyptian national soccer team's hopes to reach World Cup play with their American coach. I think it should have been called "Death Wish, 2014."

I guess that I should have written 'starring' instead of 'with'.

I was enjoying my new eye so much that I lost all sense of grammar, ha!

I've been re-watching all of Parks and Recreation even though I have a million other things to watch.
