Trying out The Killing on Netflix. Hope I don't regret it.

It's actually pretty watchable. Already on episode 10 of the first season. If you take it apart and look at the individual elements, it seems like stuff you've seen so many times before, so why watch it, but yet I keep wanting to dig into the next episode. So they must have put it all together well enough. There is the occasional moment that feels too familiar, uninspired, but overall it stays engaging.

I gave The Killing a go because my wife loves it. It seems well written but I found the pace to be a little too slow moving for me so I found other things to do while she binged on each season.

AND FORTHALUVAGOD can someone please make Mireille Enos's character stop wearing those old knitted sweaters!!!!! It goes from quirky to disturbing to annoying in almost no time at all.

Amazing Spiderman 2 on Blu Ray - watch #1 first or confusion will reign for the first half of the movie. Unfortunately we missed #1 because of the change from the original series & we thought that we had seen them all.

Anyway, lots of great CGI with good sound but again some of these titanic struggles between the good guys & bad become a little tiring (much like in the Transformer series).

Worth a watch I guess. We'll rent #1 this weekend...

It rained on and off like it was a tropical storm last night so we watched a couple of movies on Netflix.

The Heat.
Took a bit but then it got extremely funny. Melissa McCarthy steals the show, as usual. Great comedy!

Premium Rush.
Better than I expected. Michael Shannon's portrayal of a lunatic <spoiler deletion> was very entertaining. I recommend it for when your running low on things to watch, expect little and then can be pleasantly surprised by the high side of mediocrity.

I enjoyed The Heat as well; however, I became uncomfortable with the over-the-top foul language after a while.

Way overdone IMO...

Noah.

So much potential, so little value.

We watched it on Saturday night and both liked it more than we thought we would.

Gotta love Redbox, $2 a night here.

Noah... I actually watched it twice because I fell asleep the first time around, about halfway through. It's hard not to grade it somewhat on the accuracy of the story. I knew it was not going to go along with the bible account, but what happened in the movie seems a bit far fetched. Anyway, blah, blah, blah. Started to include a spoiler, but removed it.
