I am trying to find some first impressions from LFR 1100 owners. I want to find out how you are enjoying the speakers, and what speaker you were listening to prior to the LFR's.

Has anyone listened to them directly, and when I say that what I mean is just connected the same way you would any other stereo speakers, how did you like it?

I just finished listening to mine for the first time, and I am curious about what I heard or didn't hear!

I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

thanks!

Give me a couple weeks, and I will have a comparison between the M80's V3 and the new LFR1100's.
What are your first impressions and what speakers did you replace?

What do you mean by this? Do you mean without the DSP?

If you mean without the DSP, no i haven't tried that, and i won't.. Andrew spent too much time programming all that stuff not to use it...

Prior to the LFR's I was using a pair of M60's.

The biggest thing that I personally noticed was that the sound was much more enveloping when listening to stereo content. This is also true for some movies as well. When I get a new Blu-ray player I may notice more.. My current one does not decode the newest HD audio codec’s…

Hope this helps

Except when you're sending the DSP back to Axiom for a code update. At least, that's when I listened without the DSP, and I also went DSP-less initially when I didn't have enough external amp channels. Of course, minus the DSP, that means I also wasn't utilizing the rear-facing drivers. They're still impressive-sounding, basically what you'd expect an M80 with an extra woofer to sound like.

Thanks for the replies. I have had a couple of minor setbacks since taking delivery of the LFR's and I was looking for information of how the LFR's sounded because I knew it should be better than what I know the M80's can do. On my initial set up I wasn't impressed at all however found out that I had a few problems that needed to be and so I have not had much time running the speakers with the DSP. What I have heard I have been happy with and I will provide more information as the weeks move on.

I have played them extensively without the DSP and absolutely loved them. I have had a couple versions of the M80, and although I have used different amps this current set up has better control over the base than I did with the M80.

Since I put up the original post I have been in contact with Axiom and we are working to get my setup tweeked. I know that my concerns are being addressed.

I take it that you got your upgraded DSP back now. Did you notice an improvement? I've been tweaking other parts of my system and reluctant to be without my DSP so haven't sent it back yet. Wondering whether to finally do it or wait for the next update...

There is a new code available. The new code has been available for a month or two i think.

Just bumping this thread. I also have the LFR's and am curious to hear others' impressions. In my case I also replaced a set of M80's but in parallel also added an ADA1500 (was previously just using a receiver). Then I added another amp to drive my centre (thru the DSP) and surrounds. There have been noticeable improvements at each step but I cannot directly compare my original setup to my current one.
