Finally we had a beautiful day here so I decided to play around with the car. This was is first DIY Corvette mod that wasn't a "peel and stick" went from this: to this: much better for my elbow, hardest part was the installing the piping.

Wow! That's really neat.
Did you replace the entire hatch, or does the new material cover the old hatch or what?

Nice! Now there's something I bet Mark can't make in his fancy workshop.

Did you replace the entire hatch, or does the new material cover the old hatch or what? Hi Tom, it's really simple. You remove 4 screws and the hatch comes off. I took it in the garage and removed more screws, this released the inside plate that has the latch on it. You then slip the hatch into the new cover. Helps if you have a very bad vocabulary, leaving in the sun to warm up really helps too as the fit is very tight. Then simply attach the inside plate, take it out to the car and attach with the same 4 screws. Fingernails, or a small screwdriver will pop the cover off the active handling/selective ride buttons. Put the piping in the slot and pop the cover back on. This was actually the hardest part. My elbow is thanking me.
