15x20 with 15-20 foot cathedral ceilings. It's one thing when you do sq. footage, but it really changes things when you look at the cubic footage. Not to mention that this room opens up in three areas. A hallway, the kitchen, and a balcony. So, after talking to the SVS guys, I'm the first person I've ever heard of them talking someone UP. I was originally going to go for the PB2-ISD. But, if the extra chang will make that much difference...I just got to!

With that size room the PB2-Plus is probably a good choice.

I agree. Better to have too much power than too little when a sub is concerned. That's why they have volume knobs on 'em.

Since Jack and Peter didn't say it, you're not crazy for ordering that monstrosity.

SVS actually did talk me up too, from a 20-39PC+ to the PB2-isd. But then again with the dimensions I told them my room was about 4000 cubic feet (28x18x8).

Of course when I actually measured it came out to 2600 cubic feet (25x14x7.5).

Oh well, at least I'll have plenty of power and never have to worry about upgrading. Plus it was only $75 more and looks sweet.

Toy, my guess is the cathedral ceiling came into play with the SVS discussion and those guys are uncommonly consistent and dependable. For the little bit of extra money, the additional performance available will be comforting. You will also avoid any thoughts about needing to upgrade! Plug it in and hang on to your children.

Yeah...you know. It's just $1300 is $1300. And this is straight from my checking account! All my speakers. Everything has been done on faith. Does anyone own an SVS sub. Do you FEEL the music and movies as much as hear it? That's half of what I'm looking for.

Misfit,

My PB1-ISD is capable of kicking me in the gut, shaking the walls, and scaring the dog and cats out of the room.

The room size is 31 ft by 11”3’ by 7, the PB2 Plus, yes I was really close in getting that instead of the PC +, with shipping thou the extra $400 I just didnt have, im sure the upgrade bug will bite me again someday and I might get it, the PC+ sounds great but I was not as overwhelmed as I thought I would be, I use to have a cerwin vega LW-12 and for $250 that thing shook the house thou not quite as clean and not as deep but it sounded Damn good for the money

misfit- with that much air space above you, i think your choice of sub will be perfect. giddy you will be. try and contain yourself though.. we dont wanna hear stories of you doing cartwheels across the front yard! hehe

retrace- thanks for giving a shout out to the LW-12.. i know it aint the best, but for the money, it rocks.. plus, i have never heard an HSU or SVS so i dont know what i am missing.. but, i like my LW-12, and i think i will keep it for a while.

Toy, I know they are not giving their subs away and $1300 can buy alot of other stuff, but you are only writing the check once and you will get years of pleasure out of it. (Rationalization Logic Generator reset to stand-by)
