Congratulations on the M3 speakers, I also have M3's and enjoy them powered by a Roksan Kandy K2 integrated amp Roksan Kandy K2 integrated amp, plenty of power to get them creating lifelike music in my sitting room.

i may be asking this question on the wrong topic but.... i recently got my hands on a crown xti 2000, which pump out something like 475w a ch. Would it be a terrible idea to plug my m3v3s into this thing?

No - just don't crank them to ridiculous levels. They will probably audibly protest just before they go up in smoke.
Under powering is normally more dangerous because nasty, damaging clipping can occur...

While I completely agree with that under-powering statement, how much is too much? I keep reading posts about the m80 being tested to well over 1000w, are the m3 also subjected to the same tests?
