Was wondering what the thoughts were to upgrade the version 2 surrounds to the version 4s? Would one notice enough of a difference to justify trading up?

the other question that should be asked...
are the v.2 speakers not filling your needs enough that you feel the desire to upgrade?
If you are disappointed with the sound of the v.2, that they are not giving the full sound that you are desiring, then moving to a new speaker would seem logical. They are surround speakers, so really just for effect.

Sometimes upgrading provides a slight psychological effect and therefore worth the expense.

why don't you order the V4s and compare directly with your V2s !
if the difference in sound quality is not worth making the change, you can send them back.
