Hmmm... Now where would the LP be with the speakers pointed up and out (or in) like that?

Looks like you would need to hang chairs up in the corners of the room. You can listen to the left track, switch chairs, and hit replay to hear the right track.

I won't be using LP's ... ...

They will be on stands, I just don't want to get done with thr review and have cries of "You didn't use the Acme dual drive, sand filled, exactly 31 inch high speaker stands, which means you could not have gotten optimum performance" ...

Nah! If the 22s don't fare well, we'll just blame it on your lousy choice of speaker stands.

Seriously, just be sure you isolate the speakers from the stands. Many stands come with small isolation pads.

I got a good deal on this soundproofing mat. I got one linear foot (they actually sent me 16") by 48" wide, of their half inch thick mat for $24 shipped. It was pretty easy to cut. Just score the surface with a sharp implement (I used a box cutter), and use a good pair of scissors to cut it the rest of the way through. It does a good job.

Ok... I may stop by Best Buy and grab 4 stands this week... and a pair of cheap speakers since I am heisting the kid's so I can torture the 22's and ELT's ...

Another thing I will do is to pair them with a subwoofer...

I wondered if you were going to test them with a subwoofer. Do you have a subwoofer?

Ah, but that's the idea. Mounted low and titled back, aiming the drivers up at the listener - with the tweeter further back than the drivers - correcting the problem caused by the higher frequencies otherwise arriving at the listener before the lower frequencies.

I find a martini also fixes that effect... and is much more enjoyable...
