Got the video but it seems that they didn't put in a link to actually order them. From what I have seen, they look very interesting, but would really like to see some more of the specs.
Hope they do like they did with the computer speakers and let us order them before shipping at a discount.

I am wondering what price point would make this out of reach? there seems to be quite a bit of STUFF inside.
I know the raspberry pi is not all that expensive as a component. Then there is the DA converter. 2x75w amps. I am curious how the Lithium battery pack works with the unit. That is what has me interested.
This is going to be a very interesting speaker system when it does get released.

Even though I have no great need for it, I'd love to buy one at some point. Looks like a fun system. Since my living space is already Axiomed out, where I'd get the greatest benefit is taking it outside, but I'm sure the optional battery pack can't be cheap. Maybe I'll splurge and buy one for my parents at Christmas or something, since they would get more out of it than I would. My dad has tried several, admittedly at the low-to-mid range, and isn't satisfied. He would never spend the money himself, so we'll see how generous I'm feeling around the holidays. Ha ha.
I can't wait to see how it all shakes out.

Charles, I thought you had a deal with Axiom that was kinda like the old Columbia Record Club:
They notify you of what brand new thing they're gonna send you. Unless you mail back the "No" card in time, it'll be at your doorstep soon.
C'mon, CV, you are THE Axiom (b)leading edge consumer! Don't let us down!

It seems like they've thought of everything. I think it will be a wonderful product, and that it will be too expensive for me to seriously consider. I'm eager to see the UI. As always, I hope it is a smash hit for Ian, Andrew and Co.

I was ready to pull the trigger on a JBL L16 when the email about Aeris arrived. Already told Ian I want one. Here is the JBL ... http://www.jbl.com/speaker-docks/AUTHENT...r-docks#start=1

Can more than one be configured together as a zoned system?

We are planning on having the final look for the UI done in the next two weeks and I will post a link to it so everyone can see the functionality. It does include the ability to group rooms together to form a zone. The price will be $799.

Guessing these are the wireless speakers ? Was there an announcement of naming that I missed ? I guess informing us beforehand that none (as is "not one") of us had won, would be to infer, by definition, that we are all losers, which everyone at Axiom already knows. No harm, no foul, I guess. I wonder if Aerismith will be pissed off?

One of the things we wanted in the name was to get the exact URL and AxiomAeris fulfilled that requirement.

hopefully in a few weeks we will also find out what that price is for? Do you get the battery with that or is it a base price + extras? I hope they put out all the spec's including the sound profile graph.
The biggest question is how it sounds. Not to be a neigh sayer, but the competition is pretty steep especially at that price point. For example, the Sonos Play5 has 5 amplified speakers. it does sound pretty good, and costs 1/2 the price. The bose Soundlink sounds pretty good as well, with a Li battery.. 1/3rd the price. Face it, the unit will be used in non optimum sound environments. You would not put one of these in your sound room as a replacement for your hifi. Will I get as good a sound from this as i would from a set of M2's and a $300 receiver as it's about the same cash outlay.
The truth is in how it sounds in the end. I see that the Aeris has got some really cool tech inside of it. But when the tires hit the road it all comes down to sound. Having a 24bit192 DA with WiFi connect will mean nothing unless is sounds substantially better than the cheeper bluetooth solutions already on the market.
I have very high hopes for this unit, and really do hope that it can deliver the sound we know Axiom has inside.

OK, who else thought ghetto blaster when they saw the dude carrying this thing around? Mind you, it probably sounds a tad better than what I carried around in the '80s.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. This is really about the audio performance, more so even than the convenience of use (which is still important). I can safely say the products you mentioned are not in the same category as the AxiomAeris N3; which is a pair of M3s in one box with a real 75 watt RMS per channel amplifier. If you add up the components the price point is actually quite aggressive. The pair of M3s, the 150 watt amplifier, the power supply, the DAC, and the computer/wireless components. The battery is sold separately and can be purchased with the AxiomAeris N3 or installed later by simply removing the battery access door in the bottom and inserting the battery.

Thank you for sharing that info. I think something along those lines need to get into the video to set the stage for what you are trying to sell. This is not just another portable speaker that you put out onto the deck to have some background tunes playing while having a beer/wine with your friends. It is an actual sound system.

Prices pile up fast. I have a few rooms that are using separate components to achieve same result: M3s + AirPort Express (gives wifi and AirPlay) + WDTV (upnp) + Toshiba 180w feature-less receiver = 525 + 125 + 100 + 225 = 975$... It goes up to 1200 if you want a receiver that can be controlled by HTTP or Telnet or add 200$ for local switch and iTach IR controller otherwise.
799$ is far from cheap, but it is actually a significant cost reduction (if only in cables!) compared to the assembly I am used to employ.

I also would not use the term - purse or hand bag either. Not exactly manly.
Its a high price point, stiff competition with household names. All of which come with lithium batteries. Interested in hearing one but I'll have to rely on others opinions as I have other priorities right now.
Here is a tip for anyone ordering one - do not get black if you plan to use it outdoors in the sun. Due to HEAT.
I agree with the others, this can not be confused or advertised as yet another wireless speaker ie Bose, Phillips, logitech $200 box etc. People need to understand it is a full sound system with an proper amp and two bookshelves into a convenient portable box. It is a no compromise all in one unit with unmatched connectivity options.
You also need to get this on all the tech sites as the ultimate wireless speaker for geeks! engadget, gizmodo etc. If the tech inside works as advertised, they'll be impressed.

I keep thinking it would be fun to have one around with a battery to take on picnics or other outdoor activities. I may have to be selfish and buy one for myself.
I haven't really found lithium batteries to be lacking, but I still keep hoping for the next-gen battery technology. I wonder when Dyson and Tesla are going to have something consumer-ready that really pushes us forward.

This is an interesting unit to ponder. Not a bad price point considering that a Sonos system, which has its own pluses and minuses, starts at the $500 mark.

If you get the plastic top version it is water resistant. I wouldn't throw one in the pool but if it gets caught in a rain storm it will not be a problem. We designed it so all the non-waterproof parts are protected and accessed from the bottom for maximum water resistance. A wooden top one would not do so well left in the rain.

In a couple of weeks over here in YVR. We are getting the first Audio show in maybe 5 years Vancouver Audio Show. All the Elite audio shops, get to display. One shop is going to displaying Bryston equipment, " have to go compare to my axioms". I bet even a video demo of the AERIS would Garner a lot of attention as it looks pretty fantastic. Also compared to the Typical BLUETOOTH wireless "Audio" A built in DAC is amazing.
