LIkewise - thanks for the conversation. Since you actually have a working setup, its interesting to hear your experience.

You might be right about AudioHolics, but irrespective of that example, I do get the broader impression that there is some flexibility in many expert's minds about the role of bipoles, whereas dipoles are generically frowned on. Your statement about Dolby's primary recommendation though is a factual one, and I believe unambiguously correct.

Let me drill down into one comment:

That surround speaker that is closer to being in-line with that row of seats will be what the listeners in that row hear as their, in this example, right surround speaker, and not have much "muddying" from the other surround speaker.

This is different from my impression (which may be wrong) and actually sounds more like the older idea of a speaker "array", where every row gets identical information, but their own "copy" of it (which is more or less what the QS8's were designed originally to emulate in a single unit, if I understand). My perception of Atmos goes the other way, emphasizing the notion (ideally) that the variety of speakers is there to impart greater localization and mobility of sound for all listeners (all of whom are getting cues from the full complement of drivers). Thoughts / Clarifications?

Well. if i live up to the thread title. I had a gripe. I never got the email, letter or anything advertising what is new with the AxiomAir, or getting any offer to purchase anything.

I am rightfully PISSED as I think after dropping a good 10K towards speakers to this company, I'd think i should get a bit more respect and at least get sent emails that everyone else gets. Hell, I think I should get a card for christmas and at least some how-you-do for my birthday. But I get sweet F-ALL.

Guess I can say I don't need to bother with this thread as it's not like I am likely to be buying any more speakers for my Atmos system. Why should I bother getting directions side and rear surrounds from here. And it's not like they are getting my business for speakers in the ceiling either.

They royally ticked off the wrong person. Bob.. you have competition for being the ticked of foul mouth SOAB on this forum.

Think I nee do go and get a scotch. Make it a double of the 40 year good stuff.

Oak, I don't think anyone sat there and said "Hey, let's send it to this person, but not that Oak guy".

If you didn't get the email, check your Spam folder and contact them to see what email address they have.

Email is not infallible. Put on your big girl pants, stop taking it personally like you were purposefully excluded and get over it.

Well Mark.

I did check the spam / junk mail folder.

Funny that Axiom sure has my email address to send me my invoice receipts, so I can't see why everything else would not come through.

Or, you know, you actually have to opt in for marketing emails? Like a reasonable company? But I understand, you really enjoy being angry.

Holy christ, I mean, you're mad you don't get advertising?

Or, you know, Axiom could actually send a single email asking if you want to opt in.

This is something I've never understood. Those emails seem to be a mystical thing. I even asked to be put on the list once and it never happened. I don't have extra cash to spend on speakers these days so for me it is a moot point, but still...

I'm pretty sure they asked Bob to hire a trained monkey to pick. You know how Bob is.
