Yeah, new phone is set up. Anthem MRX-1120 is in place, just need to update the firmware, and run ARC to enjoy it, but the long process of rearranging the equipment shelves is done.

I hopefully can get wires run for the M3s early this week so that I can patch any holes. I'm excited to get the M3s, but honestly I do have TON of other things to do too.

Big learning curve here. Since I'm stubborn & doing beta testing, I'm trying to get it to run by myself on my Android Tablet with the help of Ian's Instructions via PM; however, I don't want to bother him on the phone until I need to.

My older Toshiba Lap Top Running Vista does not want to cooperate due to an outdated browser & I-tunes doesn't like it either because it wants Win 7 or later. It might be a lost cause but I'll play with it later.

Anyway, I've got it playing music nicely on my thumb drive that plugs into the lower front panel. 8 GBs of MP3s (ripped CDs) at 320 Kbps. Sound is awesome - smooth & powerful - typical M3 but from a more point source. I think that I have the best sound in a kitchen in the local area, ha!

I haven't been able to get internet radio to it yet but after rereading Ian's Instructions, I never went quite far enough in the procedure. Time for a break - I'll play with it again after supper. So when I get radio along with my music, I'll be happy.

I believe that mine has a battery but I really don't know except it is quite heavy...

I bought a 256GB USB 3.0 drive so I'll be ready.

Not sure USB 3.0 is supported on raspi2.

Have you tried out one of your subs with it, TAM?

Yesterday I bought a package of 2 Kingston 16 GB thumbs from Best Buy Can for $14 - about half price - one for the AIR & one for the car. They are 2.0 & work fine in the AIR. These thumbs do not have the fastest write speed, but once it is done, basically that's it. Buffering is adjustable in the APP, but I left mine on the default setting & experienced no stuttering nor pausing.

These are quite small with an aluminum housing that fits the slot of the AIR & allows the 'access door' to be closed with it installed. Thumbs with a bigger form factor may not allow this.

Subs are not required with the way that I use it in the kitchen. The M3s sound just fine for music as is...

This my more or less permanent setup for the AIR. Note the tablet & lap top over to the right on the control desk...

Mojo, I wasn't assuming that the Air uses 3.0 or would benefit from file read speed, but I wanted a 3.0 for faster transfer of files on the computer side.

TAM, my mistake: I thought I had purchased a 256GB drive, but looking back, it was 128GB.

I also wanted teeny and bought the largest storage size available, which evidently was 128GB. I have the wonderful idea of my Air having direct access to my 1600 or so CDs, but I guess I have to admit that there are 50% that I just never, ever really listen to anyway!

Also, I thought the Air was going to be bigger. Looking at the Air next to your clock for reference, I guess the Air is only about 6" wide? smile
