OK, I tried Andrew's procedure on both the Vista Lap Top (with iTunes installed) & the Galaxy TAB S Android Tablet. Unfortunately, same result.

All is well up to Step 11.

Inside the AA App, when I click 'Connect' back to my Home WiFi Network (with the correct PW that works with other devices) it connects fine, brings up a small window advising that it has connected. Then the AA APP goes into a never ending 'search' mode - the revolving circles on the screen.

The R & B Lights continue to Flash. In my WiFi Network list, the AA Wifi is still showing as available, ie, the unit hasn't found & switched over to my Home Net I guess...

A new thread might be in order if one of the Axiom Staff sees fit to start it...

I got brave & went into my Router Settings. I believe that something in there might be set so that AA can't access it.

What that would be I don't know because it is all foreign to me. Nothing in the Firewall Section jumped out as being wrong, but again I don't know.

I exited without changing anything...

OK guys, I may have stumbled upon something.

In my Router DHCP Server Settings:

DHCP IP Address Range is: 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199

AA IP Address is: 192.168.211.1

Could it be that my Router is not able to see the AA as it is clearly outside of its Address Range?

It is configurable but I won't change anything till I get some expert advice.

Eagerly awaiting any thoughts...

@exlab:
The AA IP address you are seeing is, I presume, the one you see when connecting to AA as wi-fi access point. There is no link between that address and the router's DHCP (separate networks).

Do you have old equipment connecting to your router? A regular wi-fi access point (one with just one radio) has to accomodate the lowest level of communication. So if a B and a G are both connected at the same time, both will operate using B. It is possible that some equipment somewhere (could even be a neighbor's) is forcing the wi-fi router to a lower mode of operation than the minimum AA requires (which would explain the "connected-but-not-connected" you have).

1) To put that possibility out of the way, you can temporarily change the SSID (name of the network) and make it "hidden" (you would then have to enter the name manually in AA and not pick it up from a list). If you have the same situation, then you will at least have eliminated a possibility.

2) Just to make sure it is not something very silly, how close/far is the AA from your access point? Is it possible to get them as close as possible? There might be some interference. I have seen countless times a laptop at 10 feet having trouble getting good connection and a perfect one at 9 feet (with exact same signal strength).

Some good advice there Eric. I would try both of these ideas.

Another idea would be to reset your router (I don't think I saw that done yet). There should be a little button in the back of the router that you would press using a paper clip. Hold it down for about 10 seconds. After it reboots, see if you can connect the AA.

Still another option worth looking into. This could be a perfect opportunity to upgrade to a new router. The D-Link DIR-615 is about 7 years old now (I got rid of my DIR-655 about 2 years ago), and although working fine now could break down at any time (If I get 5 years out of a router I am happy). The new AC technologies are out there now and much faster. I don't think the AA connects at AC speed, but most other new devices do. Replacing your router should allow the AA to connect since it would be a fresh start, and all devices would need to be reconnected to the network.

I am really hoping you get this worked out soon, for your own sanity wink

Thanks for the inputs. Damn, I thought that I was close.

My router is indeed aged but has worked perfectly with all devices that come & go here. My Toshiba Lap Top is 4 years old & Blackberry Play Book is 3 years old - both running fine.

Both the Lap Top & Galaxy TAB are within 6 feet of the AA with good signals showing.

My problem is that I'm just not comfortable with playing with routers because I don't know anything about them. The Router Manual might as well be written Chinese for the amount that I can discern from it.

Maybe a new one is in the cards but I can feel my blood pressure rising already, ha!

It's the AxiomAir that you need to try closer to your wi-fi access point.
