Had it for an hour, keep that in mind.
1. It's not as physically big as everyone makes it out to be. But there is some heft to it with the battery. 2. Built Solid, feels good. Excellent Axiom quality there. 3. Jacks on the front are a bad idea. Good luck getting network cable out. 4. Wood finish is gorgeous as usual. 5. Metal screen is covered in this nice rubber'ish material, another touch of quality. 6. External power supply is large. 7. No actual Axiom logo on the front as pics indicate on the website, just an molded AxiomAir on the flip down door. 8. Web interface is simple. Little buggy. Needs work. Volume should be on EVERY page. 9. Needs physical volume button.
Issues, I got latest update right away. I click on the mute button either on the Android App or via PC through a browser the speaker starts to click and pop massively until I un-mute it. Seems to happen if I mute it during play. If a song is not playing, no popping noise.
Using Songs on USB, two different ones, one of which I keep in my car and the songs are constantly dropping every few seconds. Radio streams fine.
Speaker doesn't sound impressive. I'm shocked. It's flat, needs bass and treble or eq controls or something - just so flat. Does not sound anywhere near as good as M3 bookshelves. Heck even the on walls speakers....which makes me wonder if I got a dud. I'm getting some odd popping noises too. Even the start up chime has some static to it.
Had issues with wireless dropping. Hopefully firmware will fix that. If I touch the screws on the back of the unit you can hear static on speakers like it's not grounded properly.

And the problems continue. Were my expectations too high?
Android. I was able to connect to it at one point using the App. Now I can't. I can connect to it on my phone using the browser and it's 192.x.x.x address just fine. Yes I'm connected to the Axiom hot spot. uninstalled app, put it back on, forget it, it's not picking it up. Samsung S6 Edge. Been using PC since.
Note to Axiom, you should write both the MAC address for the LAN and Wireless on the outside of the unit. Lots of people setup mac address filters, and lock down their networks or reserve ip's via dhcp in their routers. Your web interface doesn't show these anywhere? I found them but the average joe might not.
Desperately need bass/treble controls or an eq. Is this in a upcoming firmware? This would honestly decide if I keep this or return it. As it is right now, I'd send it back based on sound alone which is a total shock to me. And it really isn't that loud for something that is 75watt a side. Again, do I have a dud? I mean I got a Phillips 8550 which is "40watts" lol, probably not but it does hold it's own against the Air and it's 150 bucks. With the thing in front of my face and on 80% volume I can still talk normal.
Now, add a sub, and it is acceptable. But with two m3's inside it I shouldn't need it. Even if I play god aweful rap music full of bass....nothing. My Dad with his $300 Bose is laughing at me.
Phone plugged straight into analog in, volume on bust, still not very loud, still not sounding great. I'm not someone that likes REALLY loud music, I'm the guy telling everyone to turn things down, so what is up here?
No matter what usb stick I try the songs all cut in and out and quite frankly not usable. Web Radio streams fine over wireless or wired.

The Phillips is actually 15watts RMS per side.

Hi newf,
It appears that something must have gotten damaged internally during the journey to the rock. We will have to send you another one next week.

Well, oddly enough I turn it on today and it seems to working a little better. No static when I touch any of the screws Has a little more oomph to it, but the usb problem is still there, and the connectivity issues are there as well. I can however stream xmas music fine from web radio so the woman is able to use it for dinner.

There is no way of turning on the hot spot while using the physical wired LAN connection is there? This baffles me.
Typically, anyone using the wired LAN would be doing so because the wireless signal is weak in that room. If that is the case, their phone or mobile device will also be weak in said room. It would make more sense to hard wire the unit using the LAN, let it do all of it's streaming over the more reliable wire, and have users connect with their mobile devices via wireless to control it using the Axiom's own hot spot. Distance would no longer be an issue because your user isn't trying to connect to a router on the other side of the house, but instead a speaker they are obviously very close to. Right now it seems the second you physically wire the Air into an LAN port, the wireless shuts itself off. So what's the point of having both wired/wireless? am I wrong? I know my unit is a little flaky and I'm waiting for another replacement hoping issues are related but this particular one seems to be just the way it is designed. I'd recommend wiring everything anyways or at least using power line over Ethernet over ANY wireless.
Also, now that my Unit is certainly louder then it first was, which makes me think I got something lose inside or cold solder point or something, you can tell the unit is certainly capable of loud volumes. 75 watts still seems optimistic on my "possibly" flawed unit, but here's the thing. In order to get that sound quality I want, I have to turn it up to almost 80% to get that Bass I expected, and by this point it's so loud it's annoying. Hence, please put bass / treble controls on it somehow. I want it to sound good at lower volumes. I don't want to deafen people to impress them.
Again, I should just shut up and wait for my second sample to judge.

So, played with iTunes a bit tonight. Still the worse program on the face of the earth. Anyways, it does allow me to EQ the sound. And just as I thought, just a little tweak, drop the mids, up the bass and treble a notch and it made a huge difference. Of course this doesn't do a thing for USB or streaming radio or anything other than itunes.
We need native EQ.
Also, does anyone else's Air smell really strong, like electrical smell? I'd expect anything new to smell to a degree but wow. When I take my thumb drives out, they are freaking hot. I tried a few tonight just to rule out my skipping usb problem wasn't my sticks....but nope, usb just not working,.

You need to send that damned thing back! It shouldn't increase your risk of lung cancer and the bass should not be weak.
