Well one step at a time, as long as the amusement park stays open.

The 180 and Ada will obviously play nice together, you'll have power to spare at all times. I'd double check your wiring for the correct polarity and for stray wires touching more than one terminal. Re run YPAO after and double check the calibration using a free app on a cell phone or tablet. I usually delete the app and reload in each time I make a change in the room. Too many apps need way to many permissions, no reason they need access to your contacts etc. If YPAO shows the 180 as having reversed polarity but you checked and it's correct ignore YPAO. My 0.02. Please feel free to correct me guys.

It's the source volume/signal level. If it's a bell box turn up the volume on the box or change the source db offset in your AVR settings.
If the source input signal is very low to your AVR you will struggle to get loud no matter how high you turn up the volume.

I have not gone with the ypao as of yet it is part of my AVR .MY issue is with music not so much but with my movies that i can tell .Unless I gone partially def there is not much its quite low at -34db .I went in to each speaks db and brought it up but this is for 7.1 only . I am not finding an overall db raise ? confused ,

If im reading this correctly then, your saying once the receiver is turned to -34 turning it any higher does not result in an increase in volume? This could be caused by internal protection against clipping. Also i have found that yamaha has weak output voltage on their preouts and have trouble driving an amp to full output.Check out THis Link great explanation of preouts and amplifier gain.

The volume does increase I feel is volume is not correct to volume setting.

I have a yamaha receiver and a Denon receiver and an emotiva pre/pro and i find that my yamaha exhibits the same results you are describing. It doesnt seem to really start producing a lot of volume until it get cranked up past -30. This is the nature of the beast really. Tell us about the smaller speakers, they may not be as sensitive as the Axiom speakers and require more power to be driven to the same volume level. Yamaha makes great equipment but they tend to be a little underpowered compared to the competition. Something else to consider is that modern gear uses logarithmic volume control vs linear that older equipment used with mechanical resistor type volume knobs. My old pioneer integrated amp is really crankin by half volume which is what many people are use to whereas my other equipment doesnt get going until about 3/4 . Search logarithmic vs linear hopefully that will make things clearer.
I truly believe that keeping all your speakers in the same family so as to eliminate any mismatch's in sensitivity and have a balanced output. There are a lot of factors to achieving a balanced and functions system. I am in no way knocking yamaha but it is my experience that the pre outs are underpowered and dont provide as much output voltage as one would normally see though i have seen some tests where they have hit 7 volts unclipped but my yamaha was not a good match for my Emotiva amps.
I see that your amp will hit full power with 2V (volts) so i dont think this is your problem.
Linear vs. Log
Potentiometers, or "pots" to electronics enthusiasts, are differentiated by how quickly their resistance changes. In linear pots, the amount of resistance changes in a direct pattern. If you turn or slide it halfway, its resistance will be halfway between its minimum and maximum settings. That's ideal for controlling lights or a fan, but not for audio controls. Volume controls have to cater to the human ear, which isn't linear. Instead, logarithmic pots increase their resistance on a curve. At the halfway point volume will still be moderate, but it will increase sharply as you keep turning up the volume. This corresponds to how the human ear hears.

I keep thinking of more things so here is another suggestion to help get a handle on all this. If you have a smartphone get an app that measures db and then use the manual setup for the reciever and see what the actual output of each speaker is. I have an actual db meter that has been calibrated and its totally amazing how accurate my iphone was with an app, definetly close enough for the average bear.
