I've been an Axiom owner for a long time (2002), with a set of original M3Tis. I've upgraded to M5HPs and am looking to move the M3s in to our sun-room and hang them using the full metal bracket. Looking at the instructions for the bracket, it says to use the "mounting bolt already installed in your loudspeaker." Unfortunately that is not installed in mine. I assume I'd need to drill in to them, but not sure if that's recommended. Any advice on how to best hang these in the absence of the pre-drilled hole and bolt?

Some possibilities: Glue a neodymium magnet on the back or a piece of wood you can drill into. Maybe you could buy the mounting bolt from Axiom.

How are the M5HPs compared to the M3s?

I drilled into my M2's to mount a bracket to hang them from the ceiling. Take out the big driver and see where the crossover is before drilling . I used 2 x(3/4 inch) wood screws into pre drilled holes i made with a 1/8th bit. If you have only one screw hole in the bracket then i would add a second one.

I calculated if you drill two 3/4" holes into an M2, you end up with resonances at 583 Hz, 782 Hz and 934 Hz. Can you hear them?

Around the centre hole in the FMB are four slotted holes. Mark on the speaker the location of these four slotted holes. With some tape mark your drill bit length to 3/4" and drill four holes in the speaker. Use 1" screws to mount the FMB to these four holes.

BTW it only hurts a little bit drilling into your precious axiom speakers, it will pass in a few days. smile

I decided to gift my old M3s to my brother who lacked Axiom rears (had 3.1). Then decided to gift myself some new outdoor M3s for the sunroom!
