I'd rather have it like this than have to take a bus and then walk a mile in 8 feet of snow at -40 in a blizzard in North Winnipeg just to look something up in Encyclopaedia Britannica at the public library only to find out it wasn't in there to begin with so I got an F on an assignment that didn't matter anyway! All that was done to help you build character and that not everything you do at a job has a point only that you must do it. The internet is as evil as it is handy, i am pretty sure terrorist using telemarketing had very little success especially compared to having the internet. Imagine them calling someone up and saying "hello would you like to be a martyr and blow up your neighbors" sound out the dialect in your own head, think russell peters . LOL

Each generation has its own set of challenges to help build character; no dangerous walk to the library needed. My paternal grandfather had to steal food from the Nazis. I am glad none of us had to do that.
I do agree however that we have adopted a very cavalier attitude about technologies whose impacts are uncertain.

I have no concerns that the 800 with Gin Gut Punch will feedback into the phono Stage.... I spent a lot of time machining the new iso-feet mounting and it's solid, I mean total isolation. I stand by my work

Photos please, Slim. Even though I don't have a turntable, I do like aluminum and steel.

I can't stop listening to my system since I got the EP800v4NME.
I never realized how addictive listening to music can be until I got this Nirvana of a sub. I typically listened to music with PLII before this sub. Now, I find stereo is better with all types of material. Also, Audyssey and non-Audyssey sound close now but Audyssey is still better-sounding in my room.
The sub is so damned addictive; everyone who has heard it, wants it badly. I temporarily have a second one that I'll be hauling over to one of my buddies because since he heard it, he can't rest. He just can't hear with his SVS what he is hearing with mine.
I'm still keeping mum on the Gut Punch mode because I don't want to influence Slim's opinion.
Surprisingly, I have nothing negative to say about this sub or the VP160v4. I'll forever be in Ian's gratitude for giving my sub his personal attention.

I have had the 800 for 4 years now, and it still impresses me on a regular basis. Some subtle LFE in a movie, some deep and full ver low notes on a pipe organ and agility with cellos and double-bass (for example). Expensive, but worth every penny if you can afford it!

I wonder what the differences are between a v4 and a v3 besides the phase control and the mighty dust cap. I heard the v4 uses flux capacitors.
